Wound up steam ironing the chunk of back drop I used. Turned out okay. Yer also gonna need a press booth for all the photographers
heading your way from N.Y. lol
Doubt if I'll get the grand stands & snack shack built before the next race but we'll see . |

There were others before me that I got my inspiration from....Voltage Valley, Pikes Peak, Blacktop Raceway, Lions Drag Strip, etc. Your set up reminds me of Rick Voeglins Lions Drag Strip the most. Have you ever thought about adding any led pole lights down the track. It's totally for looks, but it has a lot of cool effect. I got mine from China for pennies. It is a cool project too. Really liking the new back drop as well. |

A few things I'd like to get done soon would be the back pit wall decorated with some print outs, some bleachers I designed (they kinda look like concrete units) and a refreshment/snack building to disguise the pole holding up the monitor. There's always something, eh? Wow! That's pretty extravagant to be mentioned in the same sentence as Lions Drag Strip. I've seen pictures and it is definitely top of the line! Goin' on the hunt for those pole lights now  . |

You may have your own sources for this info. and parts, but here they are anyway. I found my lights on Ebay. If you get the led lights, you will need a calculator to determine the resistor needed for the given power supply used. The information necessary for the calculator was found in the description for the lights that I ordered. Here is the calculator that I use. led.linear1.org/led.wizThis is the company that I use for any electronics parts I ever need. They have it ALL for literally pennies! Digikey.com www.digikey.com/products/en/resistors/through-hole-resistors/53Just in case you need it. |
