If you are going to use forced perspective the larger figures would go to the front and the smaller to the rear. Here are some photos of the ones I used both seated and standing, all from China on e bay, not to badly pre painte. The race start figures and the working crew I got when I bought a batch of HO cars. They are of higher quality and well painted. There are at least 200 figures on my track. I mounted the standing ones on clear plastic, so the ground shows thru, mostly in groups of 2 or more so they could be moved if needed. Figures 1
Figures 2
Figures 3
Figures 4

One thing that we need to think about is that real people are not all the same size or height. Some people are 5’3” and some are 6’6”, also some are 150 pounds and some are 400 pounds. It is good to mix sizes especially in a group. The figures that you show in the red case are Preiser and are 1/87. They are made in Germany very good figures but expensive.

The bleachers are ready for railings and some fencing. I'll be populating it after that.

Looks like a NASCAR race judging by the crowd size!

Looks like a NASCAR race judging by the crowd size! I really need to calculate what it would take to semi-fill those stands. Looks like about 3 people to the inch x 18" wide x 13 rows of seats; that works out to about 700 capacity, just in the stands. Might take a while on my budget . I'm pretty sure I don't have, even close, enough to make it look respectable. Plus I'd like a crowd millin' around by the concessions. Also some standing against the fence (not there yet) watching the racing. I acquired some nylon tulle (used for bridal veils) and it's real close to scale chain link fencing. There will be a 2" tall chain link safety fence between the track barrier and the bleachers when all is said and done. I've watched some you tube how to's on crafting the chain link fencing and it looks pretty cool in HO scale. I'll try to have a pretty decent crowd for the upcoming race

Bill, I was never much of a Nascar fan but it seems the upcoming auto hating generation is taking its toll on auto racing. I guess we will all be picking flowers for entertainment in the future.

Man I love this stuff! I like to see everybody's stuff...ideas...etc. Gale I'm loving the details and can hardly wait for the Good Times . I am a little concerned about downforce and grip since my cars seemed to have some trouble last race there. I'm not sure what to do yet. A couple of cars I don't want to mess with if I don't have to because they are running very well. Don't want to mess that up. Decisions...decisions

Got railings on the stands. They look okay from a distance . . . . .
. . . . . . not so much up close. Such is life, over all I think it'll be fine. It's harder than it looks on the how to video .

Gale, I think you are too critical of your results. they look fine. and, I think many of us can relate to feeling a little underwhelmed about our own accomplishments. many of us strive for perfection! however, I have found that coming close and having unique experiences and results is actually much more satisfying.

I agree with Al. You are your own biggest critic....just like I am with myself. Perfection is something I strive for but rarely achieve. I may have missed this, but how did you make them? The rails look fricken awesome!!
