Hi Jeff, I will be up for this in the Rookie class. I have some DR1 chassis on order but it depends whether they get here in time to build them. I will have a go anyway. I missed out on the New Zealand race due to a health problem but I am fine now. Do you have a date for the cars to arrive,as my cars will have to cross the pond? Hello Clive. Very happy to hear that your health issues are better you will be participating in my September race! The race dates are Sept. 28 -30 so if your cars are here by Sept. 27 you will be good. If there is anything I can do just say the word. Sign up sheet will go up this weekend. Thank you.

Ok. Just spent a BUNCH of money..lol. Getting parts to bring my two inline chassis up to snuff, and a few parts for my Super Comp car. Still got some more parts to get but was starting to get confused..lol. I'll order the rest of the parts later. Now to figure out bodies. Hmm...

It doesn't take long to run up a bill with these little cars! Looking forward to having you back at Bear Creek Ron. Good luck with the tuning.

OK........end of discussion. I appreciate all the input and enthusiasm for the event. The Classes have been decided on. 2 Entries per Class. I will get to work on the race poster, but here are the rules for each class. These are based on the NTRA 2018 guidelines with some fine tuning. 4 Gear Super Comp 24v Braids and shunts allowed 5.5 ohm min factory armature *no custom winds* Balancing allowed Polymer grade motor magnets Traction magnets allowed *2 only* Any gear Any wheel/tire wheelie bars allowed Conventional motor brush set up *no wet comm, etc.*

Looks like these will be the 4 cars that I'll be entering. The inline stocks will need to be torn down to guarantee the proper ohmage with the armatures and then tune. The Top Fuel Dragster needs armature, mags & braid. The Bantam Altered needs the same, chassis wise. The Hairy Canary Bantam will be my 1st resin build (a little intimidating). Will do the best I can and hope for the best! Looks like, so far, I'll have till mid to late September till I need to tear down the drag track so that will work out great for Jeff's race, as far as tuning goes.

Been in the body shop prepping for the Texas Nationals. All of the paints are hazing over. I'm using automotive rattle cans in several colors. Black, white, metallic base and candy. All are turning cloudy. Guessing it's the humidity, although I never had that happen before.
Temp was 80F, humidity 70%
Will try again Sunday. Maybe after running the ac for a few hours first.
The good news is that the 56 panel is ready for finish paint. Fish eye problem has been resolved.

Yep, sounds like a humidity issue. Keep a hair dryer or heat gun around. After you put a coat on, give it a few seconds then lightly hit it with the heat for only seconds at a time in any one spot. I actually move it around pretty fast. Main thing is not to let the body get too hot and warp it. You should actually be able to see the 'haze' disappearing as you are applying heat. I live in Texas, humidity is always high here, lol. So yea, I know about these issues..lol.

Sounds like humidity to me too. I do most of my painting with an airbrush and paint booth in the house nowadays. But when I do basecoat something with the rattle can, I do it outside and I normally have to spray a coat and then bring the body inside immediately to dry. I do the same thing after each coat and that helps a lot. Also when you hit it with clear coat and it's hazy, the haze goes away.....most of the time.

Ditto......be safe and good luck in your tournament. Be sure and let us know how you and your son do. Thanks for asking about the pool tournament. The main tournament was a 4 man team event with a field of 256 teams. It is a heads up event with no handicap. There is also a handicapped event with over 700 teams there, which we did not play in. You have to qualify locally for all these events and our team won the heads up division locally. Our team did well finishing in 17-24th place which put us in the money. Competition was the toughest I have seen in this event to date. Just to give you an idea of the level of play one of the players we played against is ranked in the top ten in Texas, (lots of teams from Texas in the event), and one of our players named Bobby Jack beat him 7-5, both played excellent. There are also many smaller events of which I entered a couple. One was a mixed Scotch doubles event, which was also heads up, that I entered with a female friend with a field of 32 teams. We did well in the tournament making the semi finals and finishing in the money. I also played in a 16 player singles event for the highest level players, 6-7 ranking, which is handicapped, I had to spot some players a game and I only lost one game missing only one shot during the first two matches, (race to 5) on my way to the semis where I met Dr. Frankenstein.... This was a name I gave him not his actual name, and this was a funny story even though it cost me the match. The guy looked like Doc Brown from back to the future with the frizzy white hair etc. He was spaced out on something and he got me, my sons and even the referee laughing with his wild play and antics. He once asked me the same question 5 times in a row. It surely threw me off my game however, I missed quite few shots. I lost the semi final match but still finished in the money and it had some entertainment value. Just got back several hours ago and I was pretty tired after a week + of pool. I must have walked 50 miles during the week. The hotel, the Westgate, where this event is played has over a 1000 rooms and it was filled with pool players. The room where the events are played has about 300 pool tables in it and there are 2 smaller rooms with about 100 tables each. Quite a sight to see, glad to be back home now.

Questions: Inline Stock
1. Ceramic motor magnets. Must be only ceramic or ceramic grade? 2. 2 traction magnets. Any composition or ceramic only? 4 Gear Super Comp
1. Traction magnets. Again, any composition? Please pardon all the questions I have been asking lately regarding rules but having more than enough racing history under organized rules (slots and 1:1), the one thing I have learned is clarification of rules. I have been out of the HO racing arena for 11-12 years so I am not up to speed on what "stock" is these days. Guess if an old 440-X2 comes out on toip, I won't need to be to concerned about "these days"!!!
