Will be sending race cars and prizes out tomorrow. Just a word on one of the prizes. I have 3D printed several pair of 5 spoke wheels. These wheels will fit the Jel Claw hot rod/dune buggy narrow tire. The picture shows it in black unfinished. The yellow and silver have been finished and then painted. To finish just a little putty on spokes, smooth it out and let dry. Then primer, paint color desired.I then seal with clear coat. They are made of ABS plastic. These narrow wheels fit nicely under a resin body. They are predrilled .050". All you have to do is drill a size below what you want and press wheel on. Example using .063" axle drill out to .058" to .060".

Had to reconfigure the pit area. Just wasn't gonna be enough room where I thought and still be able to keep stuff straight. Almost looks like I need to put up a Drive-In screen

Thinking I should send a car and see how it fares, but got couple questions and want to be sure it's ok..
1-Would a Legends Funny Car body be acceptable in SS?
2-Are silicone tires ok in SS?
It'll just a standard 4 gear chassis with original parts with little tuning. Just want to see how it fares against the pros.

In this race just about any body is legal. It varies from event to event.
2 - Yes, maximum diameter allowed mounted on the wheel is .560". Foam with a silicone coating is not allowed in this class, though. I will go ahead and put you on the list as one entry in 4G SS. If you change your mind, I can easily remove it  . Thanks for your questions and your entry. Hope it's as much fun for you as it will be for everyone else!

Got a couple boxes of cars in the mail delivery today . Both boxes looked really good with no signs of abuse or mishap. One box from kstocks . One box from New Zealand . I will get photos and post in the next couple hours or so. Thanks guys for sending your cars . |

Thanks for replies to my questions. Looking forward to seeing how much I have to learn...  Hit a snag already. Was hoping to receive the silicone tires today, but checking USPS tracking, it now looks like Saturday at the earliest before I get them. That's gonna make it tough to ship the car to Washington by the 7th, but am still going to try. Heck, if they ain't here by Monday, I'll ship the car with the stock tires... Just want to get involved.... |
