My cars will hit the mail next week. I made a casting of a old truck I found. For the first time out casting, I think its pretty cool. 1960 Ford Econoline van truck? Truck van? LOL I'm not set to post pictures here yet, I'm working on that. Very cool Pete! I'll be anxious to receive them! It would be cool to see a pic of your new casting when you can. Used to have a '62 when I was in my early 20's, fun rig!

When I put braids on my two 4G/SS cars, it helped one and the other one slowed down by about .030 seconds. Still trying to bring it around ....... Dave is right Gale....a car should pick up in performance fairly significantly with braids. But traction magnets usually need to be added or adjusted and/or wheelie bars added for the car to perform properly. Adding braids picks up the front of the car....the whole car really. My 4G SS needed both after adding braids. Not sure if you are experiencing that or not. From what I can tell so far; I don't think it's a wheelie bar issue , maybe? I did get a little careless with the soldering so will try filing that down or do over and see where that puts it. I'll report back with findings. Thanks guys, Gale

Awesome! I'll put it down as "Pinto Rick/gnome" and consider it your 2nd 4G SS entry. Will that work okay? I'm assuming you'll ship them all together and I'll ship back the same way ....... ?? Welcome to the race, Pinto Rick!

UPDATE: Here's where it's at this morning. Filed down the solder on the braids and got back the .030 +. Put larger rear tires on and grabbed another .120 . And now it's a certainty that I need a wheelie bar .

Not counting today, there are 12 days left until the final day the cars can arrive at the track, which is Thursday, February 7th. When I've been mailing cars for past races, I sometimes do First Class, sometimes 2 day Priority, depends on when I mail them. Usually I figure (from here 99207) 4 days safely for First Class and 3 days for 2 day priority. I don't like stressing about it . I would like to encourage everyone to mail your cars early enough to arrive on or before Thursday, February 7th. Won't be any fun for you, me and everyone else if your cars don't get to race because they were late getting here . Enjoy these remaining days to fine tune and we'll see ya at the race . And Thanks a bunch for your participation!!!

The AJR Team borrowed a two level hauler from the Dodge Boys for the long trip north. Took all the cars to the track for a once over before loading up. More room there than at the shop. Hauler will pull out sometime early next week. Looking forward to the Washington Nationals and breaking in Good TImes Speedway!

Got a notice that there are concession stands with great food prices now at the Washington Nationals. My crew was going to get there by Wed. but they are now slipping and sliding their way to get there by Monday.

Jeff, that Hauler is freakin' Cool!!!
I like your other flat bed haulers too. I spent quite a portion of time today looking at the offerings on ebay for the various COE car haulers, drool drool . Got my eye on quite a few 'watching'. Some day ........

Thanks. I got the Dodge two level and the yellow Ford with the flatbed in the background at Hobby Lobby several years ago. They both came with a car....a '70 Charger and a '70 Torino. The blue tilt bed in the background is a USA1 dump truck that I converted into a tilt bed hauler. They all live at the dragstrip for decoration.

Here's a quick little video of the procedure I use to clean the tires and stage at the track. I like to clean tires before every run, so if that's not gonna work for anyone, please let me know.
Also, I'm well aware that a lot of everyone's cars are going to be quicker and faster than what I'm used to running, so-o-o ...... if anyone has any reservations about the slow down/containment area, please let me know and should be easy enough to make satisfactory.

Let me make a couple of suggestions for the shut down. You might want to put a cushion at the very end. Rolled up towel would work fine. For those cars that might make it under the towel. Also a cover over the top. Sometimes cars like to become airborn when they catch the towel just right. How do I know these things? Well they have happened to me on several occasions. Luckily they were only with my cars and I made the adjustments so it would not happen again. Just a couple of things to think about. I am getting more and more pumped every minute!! On the tire cleaning....does the masking tape adhesive come in contact with the pick ups or braids when you are rolling the cars?

Thanks Jeff, I checked out Hobby Lobby here locally and they do carry a dump truck similar to your converted one but not much else. I wound up grabbin' a couple 1 car haulers from ebay. Someday though I'll get me one of those two level jobbies cause I think they're cool .
