Cars are home. I like the sticker Dave. I will save that, thank you.
I just unpacked and haven't done post race inspection. Looking for clues as to where I need to adjust. I look at the tires, pick ups, com slots, gear mesh, wheel wells. I added more down force to the 2.5 cars this race. The only improvement was Henry's 60' time. From there it went backwards. The viper same thing, but it suffered across the track. I think they need a complete new set up. Maybe HJ is done. Lots to think about and study from the data.
Super stock I think more is there. Got some work to do. Good racing in all classes. You guys are fast.

Thank you JJ I feel the same way. My track is moving but at a snails pace. Its real, but work is there right now and in construction you get it when you can. Im almost done with the weekend work so will have a small window before the next one starts. Im looking at late summer before anything goes down the track. Will be great to have testing data to work with on hand. I have a trip to SC and the HOPRA nats on the plate. Deep breaths and keep pushing.
Everyone here is an inspiration with cars and encouragement, I look forward at any chance to check out what going on. This is a good thing you have grown here with the proxy series. I will be working on my tune ups and see you all soon.

I looked at the 2.5 cars. The viper was poorly prepped. The arm has way to much lash. The arm likes to be forward, under power the magnets want to pull it back, the gear is pushing it forward, it is bouncing = out to lunch. The storm, the left side was showing from past races it was lifting off the track. I can see by the tire wear. The car came back twice with almost no wear on the left as compared to the right. What I did was load the left side with about 400 more points of gauss. I did that by having a larger foot print facing down on the motor magnet, the traction magnet on the left side was high force set up on the left and a low on the right. Well it worked, the left side isn't lifting. It is laying down so much now I have a rail mark. To much stick and I have the car out of balance. Henry being a hot wheel body I needed to narrow the slicks to fit up under the body. I think I need more meat and different compound. I don't think the way the chassis is set up I can make any positive changes with the body limitations. The viper will go back into rebuild, the storm will be getting compete new build. I have about 2 1/10s to find. That is going to be a challenge.

Cars made it home today.
Thanks for the Hot Wheel car. Looks like a prime resin casting candidate(53/54Vette). Maybe a future Nitroslots participant. A big thank you to Supetires for sponsoring the event. Always happy to get some Supertires!
Thanks for a great event Dave.

One of the cars returned had problems with the bubble wrap that was used. I recently bought a roll of wrap from Wal Mart. Was wondering if anyone else had any marks on their cars from the wrap? I used a couple of different types and would like to know if there were any more problems?

Dave Ya my eagle car is in pretty bad shape but i dont think the paint ever cured and would be happy to take the blame on that .

I don't paint many cars but I have had trouble with some paints that stay soft for a long time, don't know why. Even picking them up will leave a fingerprint after days of drying. Any suggestions on protecting the cars some other way would be appreciated.

Dave here is how I handle things for my races. First and foremost, I use the same packing that the cars were sent to me in. That way if there is a problem, the fault goes back to the owner and how they packed them and the material they used (also because packing can be a little bit costly). I have to assume that the owners would not use packing that was tainted or insufficient. If I do have to use my own packing, it's always a new roll. The only time I reuse bubble wrap is when it's used for filler in a box, but not to wrap the cars. When I mail my custom bodies, I put them in a ziplock type baggie. I have never had any problems. For what it's worth....hope this might help.

Any suggestions on protecting the cars some other way would be appreciated. Enamel paints in a rattle can are bad about doing that. I don't use enamel at all anymore because of that and it takes longer to completely cure. Try using some Duplicolor lacquer from Oreillys or one of the other parts stores. Lacquer dries fast and hard. Since I had trouble with my 2 part clear, I've been using Rust-oleum Custom premium lacquer gloss clear and it has been really nice! Those are all in a rattle can so no airbrush is needed. I use the Duplicolor white, black, and silver as basecoat on my customs.

I am very uninformed when it comes to auto painting, including models & full size cars. I will take your advice and try a couple for the fun of it.
