I was having trouble finding a set of tires that were snug on the Dash wheels I'm using on my 2 gassers. I stumbled apon a place with decent tires . Ho tires direct ,the tires on the willys have a .466 od. and the ones on the Anglia are .474. They have a lot of sizes that seem to fit just about anything and most are available in 3 different compounds. I picked up a nice set of .588 for 4gear wheels also. Best thing for me is they're about 20 min. down the road. pricing is single tire based, the .466 were .55 each/ $1.10 pr. the.474,.65 each/ $1.30 pr. and the . 588 .85 each/ $ 1.70 pr. they mention club discount but I did not inquire. Don't know how they compare w/ super or jet claws performance wise just know it was a fast response and they have a fairly large selection.

A little feedback on the ho tires direct: All my entries at Gales race were running these tires, the 2 gassers were running the " s-1 " compound and they both had issues with staying stotted. Despite Gales above and beyond the call efforts 1 could not even post a qualifying time.Although there appears to be no issue on my Tomy track on Gales which was diplaying outstanding grip it is an issue. Wheelie bars seem to be a must have if running these tires. As my tuning skills increase(hopefully) I can share better info. If anyone needs/wants any more of the O-ring tires from the Aug. race let me know I will send a cpl. sets to Texas with my cars. I get them free in limited quantities and am happy to pass what I don't use on. Rich

Wheelie bars are a must for these cars if you want to go down the track with some kind of consistency. The only cars I find that do not need them are the BSRT/Viper type that have good motor and well placed traction magnets. My 60 MPH cars do not have wheelie bars but every T jet AFX car I have does.

" My 60 MPH cars do not have traction magnets but every T jet AFX car I have does" does this mean you have removed the stock traction magnets from those inline chassis? or that you have added no additional traction magnets to those inline chassis? in addition ..... you have added traction magnets to "T jet AFX" chassis that originally had none? and/or added a traction magnet to pancake chassis that came with just one traction magnet? /

Al that should have read my 60 MPH cars DO NOT have WHEELIE BARS, not traction magnets, I corrected the statement in the original post to avoid confusion. Yes I have added some sort of traction magnets, or magnets, to every T jet or AFX car I have and that is about 100 or so cars. I can always remove them if there is a class requirement or just not run the class. If it were not for those magnets we could never run any hot armatures unless we gooped up our tracks like they do with the 1/32 / 1/24th scale cars and I sure don't want to do that.

I knew that had to be a typo. Your 60mph cars are stuck to the track I'm sure. I agree with everything you've said here. I used to only run traction magnets...no wheelie bars. But in the last few years I see the benefits of having both when allowed. Magnet downforce is like adding weight. Too much slows the car down. The wheelie bars tend to give the car stability and allow the magnet downforce to be lightened up which equals......more speed! Doesn't always work that way, but like Dave said....you have to at least have traction magnets to go fast.

The Unlimited cars I have actually have poly traction magnets not neos. The BSRT neo traction magnets are so strong, they read 4500 on the gauss meter which is the highest I have ever seen, you could race the cars on the ceiling. They also slow the 60 mph cars down by about 10 mph.

I don't know why they make them that strong?? Road racing I guess? Not for drag racing.

OK Dave, yes, that all makes sense then. and, I have long been a proponent of wheelie bars on all slot drag cars where allowed. for 30+ years
