Dave the weight limits were set to allow for customizers to be able to do their thing and not be penalized for doing so. The same weight minimums have been in place for as long as I have been here. Those new Funny Car bodies don't have much too them compared to some of the resin castings out there. We can discuss possibly fine tuning of some of them, but they need to remain at a point heavy enough to allow for customizing and aftermarket castings. Here are two of my 4 gear builds with customized cast Doorslammer bodies as an example. No extra weight has been added to these cars. For my races I just want to see cars close to the minimums. If they are within a gram or two I leave them alone. If I see a car come in at 18 grams on a 25 gram minimum only then will I add weight. It doesn't always make a difference, but sometimes it does. Wow, don't know why your cars weigh that much??? Even my resin bodies don't come close to that. Maybe our scales are different. I just weighed one of my resin cars with a Jag DR chassis and it was 21 grams. I know the DR is lighter than a 4G but only by a gram or so. This really isn't about my cars. They were just some quick examples to show why we have the minimum weight requirements. The point is that some customized cars and bodies are heavier due to....thicker resin...accessories...?? Minimum weight requirement is there to cover that stuff.

Gale your stands and fans look great. Can’t wait to see the pits full of cars and on the track. Clive’s cars are looking pretty awesome. Really liken that Austin. You got me all jacked up so I pulled my cars out and started cleaning them up. I don’t have my track set up for any testing yet but I would like to enter 2 N/FC’s and 2 Gassers and I’m going to try and repair my 4GO Aces Wild Willy’s it needed a major overhaul and it’s been in pieces since it ran last. Hopefully I get make them so they will get down the track ? I’m going to try and have my tack up for testing before Jeffs race ? Rick Doesn’t look like NASCAR grandstands anymore. 😎Standing room only. Sounds like your pits will be just as full.

The SC cars are secured in their haulers, ready for an early AM departure. Leading the the pack is Curly's new gasser, with a Willys body over a new Dash Mondo chassis. Curly is pretty exited about his new car, as it gets a little faster with each run. If it makes it through the early rounds, it may do well. The old Blue Streak Charger of 4GO fame was pulled out of mothballs for this event. Since its 6.0 HEMI was pirated for the Carolina Crusher, Cooter built a new high revving small block. The Black Pearl Henry J is on a Tjet Chassis. Blue Cuda with flames is powered by an AFX specialty chassis. Carolina Crusher and Steeler are returning for more list race action. Red 70 Chevelle JOhnny Lightning ThunderJet 500 is a race prize.

Appreciate you sending them in, Robert! I was determined this time, to not fool around with my gassers once they were running respectably. I ran them 2 days ago just to check and one of them is doing + 3 seconds now . I haven't found the time to tear into it yet. Hopefully it will be an easy fix . These pancakes are gonna drive me to drinkin' again .

finally got some cars together last night and mailed this morning. found a couple AW/JL chassis that had shunts and braids already. bought these from someone awhile ago. tuned up a couple AW 4-gears and hope they can get down the track. I didn't even have time to test. procrastination is my specialty. good luck everyone. Gale have fun. hope my cars get there on time. LOL

Today might be the last day one could safely mail their cars and expect them to arrive on time, due to the Federal Holiday on Monday the 20th. Sorry guys, when I scheduled the race, I was totally unaware of the PO's being closed on the 20th. Please let me know who this might effect as far as your plans to mail. If this is going to effect one or more racers, I will reschedule the racing to start on Friday and go into Monday to finish up if necessary. I am really sorry about this glitch, I totally over looked this inconvenience. Please let me know!
EDIT: Appreciate any comment on this situation, thanks.
