some large airports have post offices that are open every day including Sundays and Holidays.
I waited too long to get my stuff ready and I am hoping that they get there in time.
I guess if there are any racers who have to wait until Tuesday to ship you will have a difficult decision.
I think it is OK to make changes to your schedule as you see fit, this is why YOU are Race Master.
in any case, I trust you to do what is best for all concerned.

finally got some cars together last night and mailed this morning. found a couple AW/JL chassis that had shunts and braids already. bought these from someone awhile ago. tuned up a couple AW 4-gears and hope they can get down the track. I didn't even have time to test. procrastination is my specialty.      good luck everyone. Gale have fun. hope my cars get there on time. LOL Really like the Pink Floyd car!  |

Two racers showed up today with their cars  . Nosubfor3 and gnome.
The two N/FC entries of nosubfor3.
Nosubfor3's 2 gassers.
Gnome's 2 gassers.
A PSO entry from each of them.
And a 4GO list racer from both nosubfor3 and gnome.
The pits just keep filling up, ya gotta love it!

Appreciate you sending them in, Robert!  I was determined this time, to not fool around with my gassers once they were running respectably. I ran them 2 days ago just to check and one of them is doing + 3 seconds now  . I haven't found the time to tear into it yet. Hopefully it will be an easy fix  . These pancakes are gonna drive me to drinkin' again  . Pits are loading up nicely, looks good. Pancakes have always been the most inconsistent of all the HO cars. You would think with the large brush and commutator area they would not be inconsistent but that is not the case. I have taken a good running car apart just to clean and lube and have lost 2-4 MPH and a tenth in ET??? and it's not that I have not worked on 1000+ of these cars either. You reminded me of that old song Hot rod Lincoln. You are goin to "drive me to drinkin if you don't stop drivin that hot rod Lincoln"-----pancake.  |

I’m right there with you Al on being a procrastinator🥴 I screwed up on my best running gasser of the two that I have. I needed to do a little soldering and melted the chassis at one of the rivets. So this morning I decided to build another using a AW chassis and fired it up around 3 o’clock on jack stands. Sounded ok ? So loaded them up and made the post office by 4 closing time. Supposed to be there by Tuesday. I hope they preform well ? I had to put my #2 (my research & development 4GO car😁) under my Aces Wild. It was way off but my Aces Wild chassis needs a complete overhaul. Until I get my track set up these will have to do. And Dave your analogy of the Hot Rod Lincoln song and these Pancakes is right on 😁 Looking forward to the race Gale your track is looking AWESOME !!

Thanks guys! Appreciate your update, Rick! Very thankful for you and everyone's participation.
At present I have 5 packages on the radar and all are scheduled for Tuesday the 21st arrival. So, if things go as expected, we will probably start racing Thursday the 23rd, as originally scheduled. I will keep you all updated due to the circumstances. I'm ready to start now, though .
Concerning the song, Hot Rod Lincoln, you hit the nail on the head Dave. I've probably listened to that song 20 or 30 times in the last few days. It'll be the sound track for an introductory video I'm trying to put together to post on race day, so it's a pretty sure bet that reference came from that song . About 20 or so years ago, a band I was in, was playing a car show that Charlie Ryan (original artist of Hot Rod Lincoln) had his Model 'A' entered in. We were fortunate to have him sit in with us and did that song plus a half dozen others we all kinda knew. It was one of those cherished life moments. |

Update: Looks like all 5 packages have arrived in Spokane according to tracking info . I am going to assume that all will be delivered tomorrow and we will be on track to start the event Thursday morning, as early as possible. I would like to again, thank everyone for mailing in a timely manner that has evidently avoided any concerns with the Holiday circumstance. I will be more conscious of this holiday thing in the future .

The event has been on the January calendar for over a month. I have made the correction on the event schedule thread. |
