It was way back in the early 70s when Garlits moved the engine to the rear and proceeded to dominate until
the others did the same. It was mainly because of a gearbox explosion that he did it but it improved performance also.
· In 1971, Don Garlits turned the Top Fuel world around with Swamp Rat 14, his successful rear-engine dragster.

Mike the wheels are on the autoworld 4 gear chassie they sell with out the body up at the hobby shop from me. Im sure there on other cars as well.
