I did a couple non Slot Car trucks. I thought a Hot Wheels Dodge Hauler would be cool to get back and forth to the races with. And when I've Out Procrastinated Myself and didn't make the race it would look cool sitting at the shop or in a diorama ? Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr And this Rat Rod style Peterbilt to yank around a 5th wheel trailer or whatever ? Or cut the sleeper off and shorten it up some and Drag race it ? Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Sweet! What will you use for axles and wheels on the Dodge hauler.

I want a dodge hauler lol. Real close on the Roadrunner Bill. 73/74 would work. The 71/72 look very similar until you got them next to each other. I scored another dodge cop car of Al, I'm going to try and make another 73 Roadrunner. If I get it to look right maybe I can persuade one of these fine casters to make some copies.

I got the 57 Chevy Tyco Flip Nose cast and it came out OK. I need to try a more ridged resin. Everything is so thin and real light it needs some stiff*ge The front noses over a little because the resin I normally use is flexing. Other than that it's pretty good. Gonna make a different hood without a scoop and a blown engine with headers if I can fit them in ? Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Nice to see the progress on these. Is the hinge on the bottom what is flexing, causing the nose to droop?

Bill I think these are the wheels and tires I will cast. I got them off a Hot Wheels dually I had. And to answer your question on the 57 it's drooping at the fire wall and the part the engine sits on. All part of where the hood pivots. Like I said it's pretty thin and I think the more ridged resin will cure it ? Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr One of the Haulers I did years ago I did the wheels in resin and used Model Master silver chrome on the wheels and they come out OK. There's a lot of better chrome paints available now. IMG_2409 by rick williamson, on Flickr I'm in the process of making changes to my old Hauler. It's a little bigger than the Hot Wheels Hauler. It fits the 1/64 scale cars a little better but way less detail. My version at the time was OK but the Hot Wheels hauler is so cool. Found some cool parts on Ebay. Some Funny Car style headers that are really nice and some Moon style fuel tanks. If you Search 1/64 3D there's a lot of stuff in Die Cast and some in slot cars. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Thanks for sharing this with us Rick. Didn't find these exact items but did find some really cool parts and 3D bodies! Man, you've opened a whole new can of worms.

I thought it might be a good time to get serious and make a Big Announcement. After coming off the Big Motorcycle Win at Summer Slamm at AlleyRatz Raceway I was able to sign a multi year deal with The Legendary Eric Von Zipper to run the Bike program. He will bring along his Gang...I mean his crew The Rats and a few Mice (not to be confused with the Skillet strain of AlleyRatz) to help run the bike program. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr This video was taken last Saturday outside Big Daddy's where the big signing took place. Followed by Surf music and GO GO Girls. It doesn't take a genius to see how big of a asset Mr. Von Zipper and his Gang....Crew and Mice will bring. Plans are to improve the Stock Tyco Bikes, 2 Eagle Pro Stock bikes are on order and plans are to build a Nitro Harley for Match Races and Exhibitions.

Going to have to see if the Black Widows are available for hire. Right turn Clyde!

Bill us procrastinators think alike too Cholla and The Black Widows was gonna be my 2nd choice if I couldn't get Von Zipper. Cholla is a big man and would need to diet to ride. Both Leaders....Riders and their Gangs..errr...Crews is smart and intelligent and good citizens but Von Zipper brings some mighty pretty Mice

Some stuff I've been working on. Jeff and Bill have been using some of the Pearl Powders and got me interested in playing around with the powder. I used it once on my Aces Wild Willy's that I mixed with the clear and sprayed it over a Linen White and the decals and it gave it a fairly good Pearl look. So I tried it on my future list car ? I painted it with House Of Kolors ultra orange pearl with a pearl white basecoat. It wasn't the orange I was looking for it wasn't very Ultra or very pearly. So I shot a coat of clear on it hoping to wake it up ? Nope !! So now I'm into it to far to strip which I already did once cuz I didn't like the first orange. So I added some silver pearl powder to some clear and it helped but still don't like it. Going to finish it and hopefully I'll learn to like it until I can do another ? Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr The powder I used is Smooth-On brand made for casting resin. There about $7 each. Thought I had some from House Of Kolor but don't know where I put it ? So I used what I could find and luckily it worked with paint too and I really liked the out come of the pearl look but still don't like the color. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr This is how much powder I added to the clear and it was just what I was looking for. by rick williamson, on Flickr by rick williamson, on Flickr I'll post some others I've been working on later. Need to work on some cars so I'll have something to send to the race.

looks pretty darn good from here Rick. I love pearl, but it doesn't always catch the light like I want it to.

Good stuff here Rick! Will that car be making it to Bear Creek this trip? Lovin' that Nomad man! That looks like about the same ratio of powder I used in the cup of my double action airbrush. Thanks for posting.

It's the windows Rick. It will settle in place once all the over spray is off the windshield.
