Mazda,
Your track looks great keep up the good work. On the lighting I have a Dragon and the DRC timing systems. The Dragon works well with LED lighting, at least for me. I have the lights positioned 6" above the sensors with no problems when I use it.
On the plastic track, I'm not trying to start an debate, just speaking from my own personal experience. But setup properly with taps, smoothing out the rail heights and transitions between sections. You'll be surprised how well your cars will perform. With that said I know that the Auto World track has some alignment issues at times. But with my track which is comprised of Tyco sections. There was little to no difference time wise from what I run here at home, to what my cars ran at Jeff's track (which is a MaxTrax). The reason I'm pointing this out is so that some one looking at this site doesn't feel that they can only be competitive if they have a custom routed track. The routed tracks are awesome and look great plus they are super quiet.

p.s I owned a Max from 2003 until 2020 and would buy one again. Especially If I could get it in black.

Thanks for the kind words, it is all very encouraging. I have made sure the track is straight and the rail heights are level. I now have a new 0-30volt 10amp power supply and will be connecting it with a relay. I am currently experimenting with different light set ups for the sensors so time will tell. It will all come together eventually

More work done. The new 30volt 10amp power supply is installed and it is hard wired through a relay. I am using a single switch to power up both lanes, I take it that is how you guys do it. I have found that the increased voltage makes my stop area a little lacking. When using the AFX power supply most cars would stop before the end but not now . I will definitely need a catch box as the wall will definitely stop the cars but will take no prisoners . I can now start to dress the area around the strip and hopefully cover the wires from the sensors. I am trying to find some advertising stickers for the safety wall, do any of you guys know where I mights find some? I do have some Supertires and AFX racing stickers.

Type of light is critical with sensors Clive. Fluorescent and LED do not work well with some sensors. If your sensors are Infra red you will need IR emitters or regular incandescent lamps. Dave is correct. Most sensors like the red spectrum lights. LED and fluorescent are more blue spectrum. Track is looking awesome! Get ready for those ET's to drop. Thanks for posting the progress!

Clive my barrier wall sponsor stickers are just logos I Googled online, resized, and printed on regular paper. I cut them out with scissors. It was easy. I used Elmers glue stick to put them on the track wall.

New power supply. The small 12volt transformer I am using to trigger the automotive relay through a switch. It will also be used for power to the light bridge over the start and finish lines.

I'm going to be sending some stuff to Clive (mazda). If anyone has some stickers or anything for his track they could send it to me to save on shipping. I'll put it in the box headed to him. I was thinking of using Dave's race, but there is already a ton of stuff to do and remember as race host, so I have no problem getting Clive care package together. If you have anything for him write in here or pm me so I know to wait before sending the box out. Thanks Sam/Skillet

Sam you can send me those stickers and I will send them to Clive. Weight is a big problem when sending items over the pond but stickers don't weigh much.
