Last year at an event, the host challenged me to a grudge race...Cars had to be die cast conversions on a Jag DR-1. I built a Hot Wheels gasser (red and white), and he built a Hot Wheels 40 Ford pick up...It was a close race, but I managed to squeak by at the end. I ended giving that 55 to the host of the race....This year I've been called out by an 11 year old, and his Dad (two cars), to die cast grudge races at the same event.. I've built another HW 55 Gasser on a DR-1 (GREEN gasser)...When the race is over this one will get sent to the 11 year old, whether it wins or loses...These cars are completely different than the TR-3GT's that will be the main event...Just makes everything more fun and interesting. Last years Gasser The finish against the 40 Ford truck This years 55 Gasser

Thanks..But just before I was going to pack it for shipping, I decided to give it just ONE more test..Brush barrel popped out of the chassis and had a catastrophic failure. I called Jag Hobbies and they sent the replacement parts the same day....I decided to make it quicker, tuned better, different tires and wheels (for speed, not for looks)...If it loses, I have no excuses now....Still just for fun.

We run a tin top class here but its standard 4 gear chassis at 18volts, min 26gram weight.

Sandfly...This started with HW, Matchbox, die cast (named: Grudge Cast)...but they are "tanks"...they weigh in around 38-42 grams (built). I have some tin, but they're not muscle type cars. I got this Mustang die cast(?) sent to me with a trade..There was no name on the underneath...It's not "tin", but it's much lighter than a Hot Wheels, weighs in at 27 grams built....I decided not to use it, because it would've been to big of an advantage. I know what everybody else is building, I'll be grudge racing 5 cars (all are tanks). Our rules...Cars are run at 24V...(30V would need a longer shut down area) Jag DR-1 (6ohm) chassis Any tire or wheel combo Full fendered muscle or drag car Die Cast body..(Hot Wheels, Matchbox etc)... Any gear ratio Traction magnets and motor magnets must be stock DR-1 (6ohm) This is the Mustang body I'm not using (27 Grams built)...Anybody know what company makes this?

Sorry should have said ours are dicasts as well, we allow grinding of the bodies to get them to the min weight if you want, but this makes them very fragile.

I wasn't aware of where you are from...I now see how the word "tins" can be misunderstood....I'm pleased to make your acquaintance.

Pete, thanks for answering...I'm familiar with Maisto. They're just as heavy, if not heavier than a Hot Wheels body....Maisto are VERY well detailed, this body is not...Thanks again.

May be one of those fresh metal die cast. They are pretty light.

Larry How about a Hot Wheels. Not much detail for a HW ? Looks like it would be a fun class. Nice job mounting them. Good luck on your grudge race keep us posted. I ended up finding that HW...The one I have just had no HW markings anywhere...I thought it was way to light and thin..I stand corrected.
