the long awaited announcement for the first NTRA sanctioned PROXY drag race of 2023 ... iceCARpades
since so many of you great racers supported JJWallace in building competitive KIWI CHALLENGE 4 gears,
I want to race them as well.
all the same rules as JJ's race with a regular qualifying and elimination ladder.
so, tune up your KIWI CHALLENGE cars for the first show down of 2023.
seems that GASSERS are quite popular so, let's run GASSER COMP T-JETS.
more info soon, but rules may be referenced from NTRA rules link and/or JJWallace's race posts pages.
I will get specifics here soon as well.

how about the last weekend in January, the 26, 27, 28, 29!!!!
rumor has it that our very own HANK/comet has created a real nice custom slot car prize for this race.

Thomas don't be scared. You haven't said a word since you joined. Here's a good place to start. Say Al I have one car for tjet. Unless your getting another car soon and it better be soon, we are going to be short on build time if your coming back to slot class.

OK, time for a quick update;
track is WIZZARD with continuous rail.
30/20 power supply with jumpers for each 36" through the finish line.
1/64 scale 1000' at 15' 7.5 " (187.5 inches / 15.625')
I have a 1/24 OMNI DRAG controller that has built in relay for bypass of the controller at full throttle.
there is a jumper across the two positive connections at the controller panel, which the OMNI attaches in the center.
the other OMNI connection is directly to the positive from the power supply.
this gives both lanes power simultaneously while allowing a brief ramp up of power via the electronic resistor board in the controller.
once trigger is at full power, the relay kicks on and the power bypasses the controller directly to the rail.
sort of the best of both worlds in my Humble Opinion! LOL
the shut down is 5' with partial steel bars and can be shunted or reverse braked via 9 volt battery attachments.
UPDATE
BOTH CLASSES WILL BE RUN ON 20 VOLTS
and the SUPER STOCK(14OHM) chassis build was changed to COMP(5OHM) build.
it is still designated GASSER but any body that is street or drag race related will be allowed.
*please no open wheel INDY/F-1 bodies*
the 4-gear class will use the exact same rules as the Kiwi Challenge that JJWallace ran, most of you have one built, so tune em up!
two car limit per racer per class.
USPS prices are going up. so return shipping cost will be $8.00 Priority. Insurance more and I think there is a chart on USPS.com

It would be good if we could get him entered into this one. |
