Why would the NitroSlot rules penalize a stock cars design by mandating smaller tires, dragsters have always ran taller tires vs anything else. It almost sounds like someone chose a size that they liked and made it law instead of going by what sizes actually come on the cars stock, unless the rules were made before AW came out with Dragsters with .630 tires, that is a possibility, I was going to do a stock AW Dragster with the stock hard AW tires, but will just skip that class altogether, I don't have the time to change gearing to get shorter tires to work on a rail.

The rules were put in place back in or around 2014. They were written like they are because everybody was crying that the rules at that time were difficult to understand and too convoluted. So they were simplified to please the masses. Sam Beckworth, the forum owner, revised all of the rules and they were not made to suite any one persons tastes or preferences. It was a core group that agreed on them. Ever since that time the complaints have been that they are too simplistic....more detail is needed....they are not precise enough....etc....etc...etc. I/we have been addressing issues when they come up to help with clarification. All that is needed is to bring up a concern and I will address it. Sam/Skillet was using the NTRA rules as we want to see here. We do not want a bunch of house rules for every race. Steve if you have a concern about tire size for this particular Class then we can address it. No need to complain and then not race the Class. It has been 9 years since these rules were changed and this is the first time I can recall this particular issue being brought up. Stock Top Fuel obviously does not run very often. When I run them it is usually Super Comp and tire size is unlimited. Do we need to change the tire size? I don't know......we can if it's needed. I am speaking specifically about the AW Dragster/Stock 4G. I don't know what all these new chassis are coming out with these days so I can't speak on those. The new rules format was also designed so that a Racemaster can slightly "tweak" things. This is one of those time where Sam, if he so chooses, can "tweak" the rules to accommodate the larger tire size.

Jeff it's pretty simple, the rules are the rules so if a stock car out of the pack doesn't meet the rules I will not run it, it's the same reason I built a Dash AFX Mondo for my 1st list car and then noticed it comes setup with .510 rears because it sits so low which is over the .490 maximum so I didn't run it and built a Tjet for a replacement, no complaining and deciding not to run a class, the car doesn't fit the class rule so no need to bother with it, you can't get anymore simpler than that.

I'm going to stay with the .560 tire rule on the stock 4gear. I like running grudge matches, they actually help as filler sometimes to keep some action coming in during the show. Steve, Eric I can definitely grudge match the dragster out.

I have the rail set as a Comp. I wanted to second the mention of the stock rail tires being larger than what is allowed.
OH Great, Now Steve is sending a stock 4Gear 88mph DeLorean ROTF

It sounds like the stock AW TF cars were just overlooked when the rules were formulated. Like Jeff mentioned we were not running them back then and likely did not anticipate running them in the future.
One question comes to mind though: Are the AW top fuel cars and Dash AFX Mondo cars optimized at .630 and .510? Jag DR1s have proven to run better with smaller diameter rears.
At least one good thing has come out of this conversation! Been looking for a small rim alternative for the 4Gear that can achieve .510 diameter. Steve may have just solved that problem.

Yes they are, the magnets are exposed so you can adjust them to work with their designed tire height. I may build a DR1 with tall tires to run against the short tire better downforce cars to see which is best when setup well, hum.

I think that small tire is just a quick flip on the dr1 for speed without doing anything. I'd love for you to do that Steve. I keep leaning on the big tire car, but I almost think you could do different things to either chassis to keep them even.

Sam, I'll join with two in each class except the Eagle Bike class. maybe, but we shall see. I like your idea of using the little round stickers and writing your own code on them to help identify the cars during qualifying and eliminations. for me it is a little easier to ID the cars when I am racing them. names and descriptions are cool, but sometimes can result in mix ups. if there are three AW dragsters exactly alike, some way of IDing them is needed. great race last weekend, thank you for hosting that. looking forward to Summer Slam.

Thanks for signing up guys I'm going to do our sign up a little different than what we are used to. Each racer gets a number, that's the number for all their cars. If more than one car in a class number will be followed by a letter. This made it a little easier for me at my Facebook race.
So above you will only see a listing of racers entering. It's still good to put in here what you intend to send so I can keep an idea of what's coming.. thanks.
