Race 8 Racin Rob blue Willys vs Mrrcape 55 Chevy The '55 is struggling today and will need a miracle to get past Rob. The blue Willys slows slightly but gets the win nonetheless and moves on. Mrrcape, The reaction time and 60' time are a reflection of how well the tires hook up and gain traction. This is a combination of clean tires and magnetic down force. Were you using rubber tires or silicone? Rubber does not play nicely with silicone and will lose traction on a track where silicone is the standard. Silicone tires also pick up dust like a magnet and need to be cleaned regularly. If I had to wager, I'd say one of these two scenerios explains your car's performance on the reaction and 60' time. I can solve the mystery. The '55 was struggling to get down the track. I use a simultaneous switch to launch the cars. They get power at the same time. When I flipped the switch the '55 just sat there for over a one count and then stuttered all the way down the track. So a good portion of that 1.7767 reaction time is the car actually just sitting there. It did not spin the tires at all. It had the same trouble in Qualifying. I tried adjusting the pick ups but there was other stuff going on.

Jeff, My hauler arrived today, safe and sound. You must have given Lamont better directions for the ride home because the Sanford & Son truck made excellent time hauling that big trailer on the way back to VA. Looks like he got around the weigh stations just fine, and earned a bonus for the quick return. The Nova body from Hairy Canary is incredible. Love it! Thank you! The bonus from AJR looks incredible, too. Thanks, Jeff! And now for some useless info from this race... Since I am in process of building my own track I took time to scroll through the pages and copy all of the results from the T-jet races into a spreadsheet so I can reference the data when I'm testing my own cars. Mine will only be a scale 1/8 mile, so the 60' and 660' is what I will be keying on on. I will be adding a 330' segment in mine while I'm at it.
Quickest run of all rounds: EC Bill with Challenger STR at .5872 ET in the quarter finals.
Quickest 660': EC Bill with Challenger STR at .4424 in the 2nd round.
Quickest 60': Gnome with White Henry J at .1007 in the quarter finals.
I'm pretty sure I got these numbers right, and I'll be doing the same thing with the 4-gears soon.

I did not look at the MPH. I was concentrating on time, not speed. But, now that you've asked you've got me interested. I'll have to go back and look.

Compiling these stats is actually extremely useful data. Knowing what ET it takes to run mid-pack and to make finals in each class would be great to know while building and tuning any car.

That is why I asked you and did not look it up myself. I thought it would be interesting for you to look at. I know a lot of the tuners use MPH along wit ET. I reference past race data all of the time. I also just like to go back and check out past races.

I look to see what mph always. If I see my mph is close or matches a top car, I then compare the data down track and its very easy to see where your being gapped. 60 foot is a big tell.

It's settled then. I'll go back through and add a MPH column to my data and post back. Either update the original post, or regurgitate it into a new post with the added data. It might take me a day or two...

Not a problem. Any info that helps me with my cars is good info. I did scroll through the results a little and saw several where the fastest car (highest MPH) didn't always win the race. I may add in a W/L column as well, but that will be pretty useless without the other cars time & speed associated with it. It would be interesting if the actual fastest run was also a loss, though.
