Hi everybody, unfortunately I am unable to take part in this event due to personal issues.  The raceway is looking great as usual, Jeff always puts on a great show. There are some terrific looking cars taking part, I hope they run as good as they look. Sadly I will miss out in the superb bodies that Rick has sent for the entrants.  They really look great and I look forward to seeing them racing in later events. I wish you all good luck in the races which I will be following race by race. Clive You are always in my prayers Clive and your are certainly missed here at the race! |

Good morning Racers and Race fans. Getting another late start (with the racing) this morning. I had to do some "chores" so I can focus on the race the rest of the day. I smoked a brisket on my Traeger yesterday while working on the race and it finished up at about 3am this morning. It came out really good....my best effort yet  .
Anyway yesterday ended with Gasser Qualifying that saw Ecbill taking Top Qualifier honors. Today we start with 4 gear Funny Car
Super Comp Qualifying at 22v. After that is completed I will set up the ladders and we will run Tjet Gasser Comp Eliminations. It's going to be another long and fun day with the cars.

I haven't got my doors blown off yet, but I can see from the last pic that I've already lost the windows in my '59 Impala.

Just after teatime here in the UK, but that brisket does sound appealing! Congratulations on that TQ Bill, may it carry forward to the races.
Unavailability of suitable hardware for these specific classes prevented me from racing with you all. However, like Clive, I look forward to following the excellent race coverage over the weekend.

 Qualifying order left to right....front to back. Congratulations to Swiftkart for 4 gear Funny Car Super Comp Top Qualifier with a .5221et (backed up with a .5222et) in the Brand X Mustang! That breaks the track record (.5265et) set last year by Swiftkart at 24v. Top 6 cars are all in the .5's! Great job!

Here are some more shots from the rail during 4 gear Super Comp Qualifying.....
Finistauri with his two entries. That plum colored Grand Am is a looker for sure!
Ecbill in the Heavy Metal Cuda and Dynomike in the Cha Cha Muldowney Mustang.
A couple of vintage Funny Cars from Pete and Cozwurth. The Vega has been repurposed and called back into action.
A couple of beautiful cars out of IT'S Garage. That Freddie car is a work of art! I think it's a Corvette??
Gramps is just one of several racers new to Bear Creek. He has brought two sweet rides to his first event.
These two cars from Steve E-D and Hairy Canary look like they came out of the same paint can. HC's Charger made some funny noises and threw a rear tire on the second pass. Seems to be ok.
Comet rollin' in the Vega and a new racer Josie is filling in for Carla60 with her Nash entry.
Carla60 in the King Cuda and Racin Rob in the Blow Me Mustang. Carla destroys the gears at the hit and barely makes it down the track. The crew checked it out and it cannot be repaired.
The first of two sets of twin cars sent in. These NAPA Chargers are from Gnome. One of them is the #2 Qualifier. Can you guess which one ??
And it gets even tougher for this second set of twin cars. These are from Kstocks. I'm going to call them Mustangs. It is Kstocks after all. Red logo.....Black logo.
The #4 Ecbill Flaming Vega and #1 Swiftkart Brand X Qualifiers are the last make passes. The Vega made a strange noise and slowed slightly on the second pass.

Tjet Gasser Comp Round 1 Eliminations
Race 1 Gramps Agitator vs Cozwurth Henry J The little Henry J gets out on the purple Gasser but can't keep it there. Gramps makes it up by half track and shows Cozwurth his taillights. Both cars improved from Qualifying.
Race 2 Hairy Canary Falcon vs Gramps Blue Stude The Studebaker has it's work cut out for it. The lights drop and the Falcon leads it from start to finish and puts Gramps on the trailer.
Race 3 Racin Rob Impala vs Kstocks Willys This was a one sided race. The Willys is struggling today and gives the win to the red Impala. Racin Rob is racin on.
Race 4 Cozwurth Driving Miss Crazy vs Crazynski Camaro Both cars slow down from Qualifying but DMC is able to take the win and move to Rounds 2. Crazynski will have to put his efforts into the 442 now.
Race 5 Carla60 Air Force Willys vs Comet El Camino Track is starting to heat up and ET's are slowing. Carla's Willys has enough to get the job done though and sends Comet to the stands.

Round 1 continued....
Race 6 Crazynski Olds 442 vs Pete Torino This race looks good on paper but the paper lies. The lights drop and the Torino jumps forward, breaks the beam , and stops. The Oldsmobile improves from Qualifying and turns on the win light. Pete is headed back to the pits scratching his head.
Race 7 Finistauri grn/yel Willys vs Kstocks red Willys Fin runs his number while Kstocks slows slightly. But it's enough to give Finistauri the win. The green Willys was down on power today.
Race 8 Racin Rob blue Willys vs Mrrcape 55 Chevy The '55 is struggling today and will need a miracle to get past Rob. The blue Willys slows slightly but gets the win nonetheless and moves on.
Race 9 Ecbill black 55 Chevy vs Pennywize Impala The Impala slow and the 55 picks it up. That's a bad combo for the Impala and it's going home. Ecbill is looking ahead! I forgot to change the names on the timing screen for this race. Ecbill was in the right lane Pennywize the left.
Race 10 Steve E-D Rat Bagz Willys vs Pennywize Blue Patina Willys This is the battle of the blue patina Willys's. Both cars run close to their Qualifying number but the blue Willys has more power today. OK it's the Rat Bagz blue Willys. Pennywize is headed to the trailer. Steve will get his first round win.
