Fin, I would surely send at least one of the Brass pans for a try, especially after all the work you put into them. This will be record runs only no class racing, plastic bodies preferred but there are no rules for this class, lexan allowed. I have already built a plastic bodied car for this class. It runs decent. I will NOT count for the trophy or record. I built a 2.8 ohm level 8 440 chassis for the run, it ran in the low 4s @ 37 MPH. Warning, stock chassis will not handle this power, rear must be braced. I showed a picture of this brace in an earlier post.  Tyco 57 unlimited

Fin, I agree with Dave. Send in a brass pan, or two if allowed. I'd love to see what they can do. If I enter a car in that class it will just be to see what I can do with one of the boxer motors in a curve hugger or HP-2.

Fin has made some interesting changes to some of the old brass pans that I think will make them run surprisingly well. Hopefully he sends them in.

Used to try to compete here using Tyco 440 X2 chassis for quite a while but kept taking a major whoopin'. Finally switched over to the BSRT and Viper style cars.

The BSRT and Vipers have some advantage with the bigger traction magnets and adjustable timing, but I believe that with some work the Tyco could compete with them in some classes. The chassis is not stiff enough for Unlimited.
