Started on the Tycos as soon as the cars were off in the mail to Adam’s race.
It’s been a lot of fun taking the Tycos out of mothballs and blowing the dust off of them.
Hardest part seems to be figuring out which bodies to run. Tyco made so many good ones over the years.

OK guys....I am admittedly Tyco stupid. I have one Stock chassis but want one more. What should I get? I want to make sure I'm thinking right......440X2?? It looks like the most common and I think it is what I already have. Can somebody help me out? Time to spend some money with our awesome sponsors! Thanks in advance.

Jeff,
440X2 is the one to get. Always felt the narrow chassis was faster than the wide also known as “pan” chassis but in testing, 2 of my 4 fastest were the wide chassis. Looks like the SC team will probably be sending 2 of each.
The wide chassis fit most of the older Tyco bodies from Tyco Pro up to HP7. The narrow chassis is a direct fit only on bodies made specifically for it. There are a lot of adapter clips out there now.

Of all my Tyco's I also thought the narrow were the faster, but I found some very fast pan, or wide, 440s. The Tyco I used to set the Tyco track record is a 440X2 wide. I don't know why we have ignored these cars for so long they made some great bodies and chassis. I did have to brace the rear end to hold the extra power of the record chassis. Near a 60 Year Old Tyco Brass Pan, I was always hoping to run Her in the Unlimited Class. It will be nice to finally run Ellie Dolly in this coming Smoky Mountain Dragway Race. I'm hoping all will put forth their best efforts for this race, My request was considered and made open to all my RaceMates Fin    |
