Tried a few local flea markets, never had any luck finding any HO slots.

I will take a few pics of the show. It's only a month away. I will have a table with Hot Wheels and 1/25 static cars. I'm also a club member of Group 25.

Your markets are probably better than the ones around here.

My hope is to go to the Cleveland slot car show one time. It's 6-hours away one way. I'll get there... Eventually. I'll need to make it a mini vacation.
It's in Skillet's back yard. Lucky guy.

There seems to be some slot car clubs/tracks near Nashville. A retail store may not tell you where the next flea market is. But a slot car club member might be willing to share that info.
It will require some homework, and crafty sleuthing.

Is there nothing like this out west? Seems to be an East/Mid-West thing.

Steve, No action in the south either, except for an occasional minor show in Florida.
These shows and slot car activity in general seems to be concentrated in the north where they have long cold winters. The theory is that since it’s so cold and miserable outside that folks up north seek out indoor winter activities.
St. Louis is the westernmost show that I’m aware of.

There's another flea market coming up Oct 26. Slot cars only. No static models. Mostly HO too. This one's 3-hours drive from Toronto.

Hi Fin,
I'm not sure about the passport thing. I don't think you can board a flight crossing the Canadian/US border without one.
The address is:
The Dungannon Agricultural Society Hall 36987 Dungannon Road, Dungannon, Ontario, Canada, N0M 1R0
The show runs from 10am until 2pm. Floor rights cost $20 to enter as a buyer at 8am.
Be warned, it's a fairly small show. One medium size room with maybe 25-vendors. Your flight money would go a very long way on EBay. You would need to fly into Toronto, rent a car. Then drive 2-hours to the show.
The organizer has Aurora T-jet tow trucks and pickups, etc, worth BIG money. He's asking $1,000 for some cars. Nuts if you ask me.

Passport is a necessity to enter Canada. FYI a DUI record will get you put right back on a return flight and denied entry to Canada. Menace to society. They don't take that lightly. (not my personal experience but someone I know)

Fin,
If you have family in Toronto. Come a day or two early and stay with a family member. I'll pick you up and take you to the flea market and back.
A mini family vacation so to speak, with a slot car flea market bonus.
