I've got two of Alan's 0-20 volt 10 amp power supplies on my track. One for each lane. You don't really need two, but it eliminated some doubt I had regarding a more powerful car "stealing" amps from the lower powered car. It was also done to make sure my timing system issues were not power supply related. They were not...
My track is on the second floor and I didn't want the acid batteries and charger up there. I used to run a large auto shop and had a very nice commercial battery charger timer stick "on" over night. Opened the door one morning to a thick acid smell and made sure I slowly opened the garage doors before flipping on the light switch. Chances are slim that something like that would happen at home but I just don't want to have to explain to my wife why the house burned down.
Alan's chargers work very well.

My new Slotcarsinc.com track has arrived and I can't wait to get it set up!! The sections look awesome. At least as good as I had hoped!
I still need some decorations, stickers and stuff. So any ideas would be great.
I have a full schedule the next couple days but I hope to have it set up by the weekend. I'll try to get some picture and post them.

I ordered one from slothead on ebay on 9/30 and it hasn't shipped yet. They did answer my email and said they were waiting for packing supplys. I am hoping that that price wasn't to good to be true. I'll let everyone know how this pans out. Kdog

No...I ordered direct. But they discussed this with me also. It seems like they were concerned about the ends of the track getting damaged in transit. It looks to me like they over-packaged them but that beats the alternative. They asked me to let them know if there were any problems. I had none. They've been very helpful.
I don't know about ebay but I have no worries about Slotcarinc.
Okay...less time on the computer and more getting my work done...lol
I'll be back tonight!

I don't know about the ebay guy...I never, ok..rarely, go there. But it sounds like he was dealing with the same issue.
I'll get some picture up as soon as I can. That's not one of my best skills!

Tjetracer, would you please let us know how wide the track sections are. I also ordered one of the 1/4 mile tracks and I want to plan the shelf that I am going to mount it on.
Thanks 440

Thanks Randy, They said that the tracks should be sent out by the end of the week. I just wanted to have the prep work done by the time that it gets here. Thanks for the info

It's 7 inches wide and just a hair or 1/2 inch thick.
It has magnetic connectors under the rails that act as both keyways and rail connectors. Pretty slick.
They also use magnetic taps. Another very slick method.
I haven't decided how I am going to bolt this to my table yet but I set it up and ran it last night. Extremely smooth. You don't even notice the joints.
I'm hoping to have it bolted down by tomorrow night. I guess I better get a timing system ordered
