Will Da Big Ragu hold on to his points lead after tonights pass?
Here is how the contest has been working. I've been keeping a running points total for each person everytime there is a new pass. When I'm done with this hop up guide I'll give the car away to the person that has the most points.
All it takes is having a good guess to get back up in the middle of the points race.
Points are awarded as follows
1st 10 pts.
2nd 9 pts
3rd 8 pts
4th 7 pts
5th 6 pts
6th 5 pts
7th 4 pts
8th 3 pts
9th 2 pts
10th thru last 1 point each.

Not much gained on this pass. It ran a .7588 @ 19.27 mph.
I'll update points later tonight and talk about the next modifications for the next pass.

 3 way tie for first with Nightrider a point down. Phil is on the numbers winning 2 passes in a row. Congrats Phil! Things I noticed on this pass were that the tires were falling off the wheels at the end of the run. Also the car is topping out too fast. I think some taller rear tires are needed that are bonded to the wheels. Next pass I'll add some taller tires, shim the motor magnets and balance/air gap the armature.Stock rear tires OD measure .384", I'm installing Vincent wheels with AJ's slip on tires. OD measures .436" I'll post some pictures this week. If on the final pass we have a tie for first place points then the tie breaker will be decided by the racer who put the final pass time number in first. This should be the final pass as a Rat Rod chassis. If it sounds like we are topping out too fast then there will be one more pass with taller tires. Future mods for the F/C set up is to add a mean green armature, balance/air gap it and add silicone foam rear tires.
Next Pass Time will be Sunday evening 08/17/08, Results posted around 8pm PST. Another Model Motoring Willys body will be given away to the winner.

WOW I fell a sleep and had a nightmare that Hermit the frog was helping Phil predict the ET in the contest is that CHEATING or what.  Then Hermit going to be at Phils race next Monday night running the WAR FROG. HELP  Well Phil your the man or is that the FROG MAN. ;D Hey RAGU I told you to watch out for Phil and Richard but just Phil now Richards starting to smoke his tires.  DEMON 340 P.S. Maybe Phil will get warts being buddy buddy with Hermit. ;D |
