Just after teatime here in the UK, but that brisket does sound appealing! Congratulations on that TQ Bill, may it carry forward to the races. Unavailability of suitable hardware for these specific classes prevented me from racing with you all. However, like Clive, I look forward to following the excellent race coverage over the weekend. If you and Clive get together and let us know what kinds of hardware you lack, we’ll make certain to get some to you!

Thanks very much for the tips, folks! I’ll keep at it and let you know if I achieve some success. smp You may have already found this on the forum, but there is a wealth of information on the 4 gear chassis in Tech Tips section. I have put the link below. You should be able to go thru here and gain a lot of knowledge and tips. The majority of this information can be applied to the 3 gear chassis as well. Hope this helps. nitroslots.com/board/26/4-gear-chassisI would make sure that all of the assembly lube from the factory has been removed and use oil after that. The AW rear rims are let's say....not very good. Very rarely are they true. If they are wobbling then your are losing power. A great alternate would be the Jag DR-1 rear rims. They are much better. Take the motor magnets out and spin the car by hand. Is everything smooth and free? Any friction is lost power. Checked out that link. Lost of good info there! Excellent resource.

A few thoughts that may possibly help. The bodies can be a factor. Have had some where the shoes hang up on the sides of the dragster bodies. If they do, adjusting shoe alignment or trimming the body should help. You can run the chassis down the track without the body to test it. Front wheels are not necessary. A guide pin is.
The pre-assembled cars are lubed from the factory. The pit kits are not lubed from the factory and will require some sort of lubrication at every friction point or point of rotation.
Since you have a car with missing pieces, you can use its remaining parts to troubleshoot the other cars. Swap out suspected bad parts one at a time and see if it helps. Or borrow parts from the cars that don't run well, to see if you can get the one that's missing pieces going.
Having successfully assembled the pit kit, should give you the confidence to go ahead and tear into the cars!

Jeff, my crew will be heading out in the morning. My two Blazers are still in the shop from the trip to IT'S raceway, so I had to put this one up for bid. The suspension under to one with the prize Camaro strapped to the roof was WRECKED. Lamont came in low bid... I'm a little concerned. He said he upgraded the power train and brakes, so he doesn't think he'll have a problem. It may take him a little extra time since he has to avoid all of the weigh stations. At least I was able to get a trailer that holds everything. As for the guessing game, wow... absolutely no clue. Hot car at low voltage. I'm gonna pull this out of the air and say .535. Nice graphics on your cars.

IMG_4079 by Bill Le, on Flickr Top Fuel dragster painted with Createx Cosmic Copper, top coated with ready mix lacquered clear that Jeff and Rick recommended. Clear was infused with bronzonator pearl powder. Clear was applied using an old fashioned single stage Badger airbrush, that’s just a small step up from a spray can. Clean up is super simple. Unscrew the paint jar, cap it, screw on a jar with a little lacquer thinner. Shake it up, spray a few times to clear the feed tube and nozzle and wipe everything down. IMG_4081 by Bill Le, on Flickr

IMG_4095 by Bill Le, on Flickr Haulers are loaded, the SC cars are on their way! Thought the haulers were going to have to travel in the “missing man” formation but the good folks at Slot Car Central got the replacement body here early enough to make the trip! Always figured that Big Ben was behind the wheel of the Steeler. Guess Russell Wilson is driving the new one. Both Super Bowl champs! A few new faces. Looking like the Steeler won't make it to the PSO race. In a practice run, it was racing in a dead heat with the former STR Challenger when something violent happened. It left the track, hit the door and has never been seen since. Search party could find no trace of it. 2 silicone tires were located but they don't appear to have been from this car. No pieces or parts have been located. It had run a .572 after a gear change in a previous run. Don't know what sort of MPH that might be, it was coming on strong at the finish line. Probably not enough to hit 88.8 and go back to the future. A replacement Steeler body has been ordered. Doubtful it will get here in time to make to Texas. I have had many a part disappear over the years, but never a full car! Poltergeists? My wife gave me a glimmer of hope. When I told her that I ordered a replacement body, she said “that means you’ll find the old one.” For years I’ve had the theory that the best way to find a missing tool is to buy a replacement. The missing item usually shows up shortly afterwards. Hope it works for slot cars too!

I've had a few vacuum moments of rattle rattle click click and its what was that? LOL!!! A whole body is a good shot LOL I was cleaning a set of magnets with compressed air when they flew from my hands, I found them a month later. I was watching football when it came to me to look on the chair its self. There they were stuck on the legs of the chair. Every time I moved the chair to look on the floor they were hiding LOL Worse than that Pete. The entire car is MIA. Wish I did still have the chassis. Could just slap another AP Vette body on it and go racing. Taking the magnets into account I’ve searched everywhere, including every metal surface that it might stick to. Wasted enough time hunting for it. It’s going to just have to make an appearance like your magnets did.

Sandfly, You confused the heck out of me! I have enough trouble figuring out which day of the week it is! You guys must be on the other side of the international date line and therefore a day ahead of us. When you posted Thursday on what I thought was Wednesday, I thought I had lost a day. Bill
