Sometimes the tails on the back of the AW 4Gear and Xtraction shoes are too long, making them very difficult to install. Grinding or filing them a little helps a lot.

Well I guess I am the guilty party and to be honest I don't even remember the exact details about why they were changed. As for the revised date......I am far from perfect and forgot to put the correct date. It says 2024 in two other places above that date. I just forgot that one. All I know is that everybody has their own idea of how the rules should be and they are not going to please everyone. There was discussion before the rules were changed, but no matter where the announcement is posted, it is not long before it is covered up by new threads and postings. My apologies to anyone affected but I get caught in the middle....like now. The thing is....they are ALWAYS good arguments and just like now someone gets their feelings hurt. So with all of that being said........ What do you guys want minimum ohms set at for Pancake Comp and Super Comp 5.0 or 5.5? Same for both? I don't need a big discussion just give me a number.
Speak now or forever hold your peace because I'm not going through this again. I will make a decision Thursday evening based on feedback. I will also save this discussion so that the next time (and there will be a next time) I will reference this.
Let me also say that I do not change rules on my own. I always confer with others before doing so and there is always reason for doing so in the first place. I do not have a specific group I go to but they are core group racers.
5.5 for Comp and 5.0 for Super Comp sounds reasonable. Otherwise, there is little difference between the 2 classes, other than magnets. To be honest, 5.5 across the board wouldn't hurt my feelings. My Super Comp cars both had stock OS3 arms but were still pretty competitive in the last event.

My cars 1 dragster and 1 Tjet left Saturday and should be there tomorrow Wednesday and I sure hope they run better on your track Adam ? I had them running OK and then they went in the toilet for some reason and I gave up at 2AM Saturday morning. And Bill your sure making it hard for me to be the Top Procrastinator š Adam Thanks for Hosting Gotta make you work for it. Keeps you sharp. Wouldn't be any fun without some competition.

Dash makes a variety of arms in different ohm values. They do have a few advertised as 5 ohm that are actually around 4. There is a newer release that in the 5 to 5.5 ohm range.

A little flip flop action on the icey dragster....Sweet! Love that Camaro too Bill! Well they all look great those are just my favorites Thank you Jeff. The dragsters will look a little different when they get to the track. Pictures were taken before the decals went on. Don't know how many times the Camaro almost went into the scrap heap but never gave up on it. Problems started when the flame masking was pulled off and some of the candy orange came off with it. Lots of touch up work and a few strategically placed decals salvaged it. Kudos to you and Rick for the razzel-dazzle powders in the finish coats!

Think the black mambas and reds fit the AFX and TJet style chassis. They donāt show either of those in stock at the moment.

Prepping for the Stock Tjet race was enjoyable. Started out with 2 cars that were already set up for stock class but had braids on them from a previous event. Once the braids came off, they slowed big time!
Since those 2 didn't seem to be responding very well, I pulled out a few more Tjets of all makes. They had to earn their chance to go to the race.
Had 3 finalists that were all pretty close. One surprise was a Dash Mondo with a 16+ ohm 2 lam arm. It didn't quite make the cut, but man was it close. Competing against 2 14-ohm arms. Lower resistance doesn't always mean faster.
With that in mind, Dash is having a $2.99 sale on some arms that were supposed to be 16+ ohms for Fray racing. Many of them came in under 16ohms which makes them illegal. Dan said some are closer to 15ohms. Might be a good opportunity to score some inexpensive stock class arms.
He also has some Green Mamba magnets pretty cheap. Not sure if they fit into any of our classes.

Hereās a head scratcher for ya: Why is it that I struggle to get a stock class TJet style chassis to make passes under 1sec., but have some stock Xtractions that run in the .7s? A lot of us even have 4Gears that run under 1sec.
We are running pretty much the same arms, magnets, gears, brushes, wheels and tires, in both types of chassis. The only advantages (if you can call them that) the AFX style chassis has over the TJet is the cluster gear and a lower center of gravity.
The real irony of it is that when it comes to the 5.5 to 6ohm cars, some of my TJets outrun the AFXs.

Any foam tyco I've got are hard as a brick or it is in disintegration mode Back when we raced with foam tires, we used some sort of pine tar like goop as a fraction compound. Still have a BSRT bottle of it.
