Ninjatek has won the first race of the NTRA Finals, with his four cars the first to roll through the pit gate at Lions today. He's already staked out a prime pit space near the Tofu Burger stand and the porta-johns. Obviously an experienced racer. Cheers, Rick V. Hey Rick, Trailered two Stock, one Gasser, and one Funny Car and sent them your way yesterday. The Gasser busted a traction bar and broke some teeth in the rear end during some test burnouts. The mechanics replaced the rear with whatever was laying around the shop. Had to forego fixing the traction bar due to time. Hope to make it on time.

Well, it's a light turnout so far for the NTRA Finals test 'n' tune. Ninjatek's four cars are currently the only race cars in the Lions Drag Strip pits, so he's gonna get lots of runs. Al the UPS Guy didn't leave anything on Friday, but Phyllis the Mail Lady will be here around 3 p.m. and hopefully she'll leave some packages in the mailbox.

The NTRA Finals test 'n' tune session has been postponed, pending the arrival of Eddiebee's race cars on the slow brown truck. Ninjatek's crew was last seen leaving Lions Drag Strip and heading for Malibu to watch the surf bunnies, and saying something about picking up a six-pack . . . I don't think it was a Mopar they were talking about. Further updates on Monday after Al the UPS Guy stops by. Cheers, Rick V. Well, it's a light turnout so far for the NTRA Finals test 'n' tune. Hey Rick. I ran the tracking info on my package , and it's not to be delivered until tomorrow. Definately put on the "sloooooooow brown truck". I apologize for that. They have never taken this long for any of my shipments.

Lions Drag Strip roared tonight with the rescheduled Test 'n' Tune for the upcoming NTRA Finals. Conditions were ideal, with a cool breeze off the Pacific and Lions' famous bite. With the small turnout, the racers were able to make three time trials in each lane. First out of the doorslammer staging lanes was a pair of Chevelle Stockers from Ninjatek. The tech guys weren't buying the Delrin rear wheels on these Stockers, but they cut Ninjatek some slack because it's only a test session. The crew in the control tower set the power to 18 VDC for the Stockers. The No. 22 red Chevelle ran a best of 2.018/5.73 mph in the right lane, and the No. 6 burgundy big-block clocked in at 2.315/4.61 mph. The Chrysler contingent was represented by Eddiebee's green GTX. The Mopar powered to a best of 2.320/4.70 mph in the favored right lane. One of RV Racing's Stock Camaros also made a dozen runs to establish a performance baseline for the class. Best time was 1.215/10.03 mph in the left lane. The Gassers were next. Eddiebee's pair of supercharged Chevys gave the fans a thrill when the Corvette lost a front wheel at the top end. Fortunately Eddie kept it off the guardrail and the crew made repairs. The Stingray put down a best of 1.350/8.88 mph. Unfortunately the '57 was having engine problems, and was slowing down with every run. After a best of 1.475/7.32 mph, the crew decided to park it before they left motor bits on the track. It was Old School Gassers in the next pair, with Ninjatek's Willys lining up alongside RV Racing's '55 Chevy, just as it ran at the Gatornationals Lite at WDWAHO. The yellow Willys ran .764/16.27 mph while the white Chevy stopped the clocks at .588/22.65. The evening closed with a classic Nostalgia Funny Car matchup. Fans thought they were seeing double (maybe a few of them were after too many adult beverages and/or herbal cigarettes) when a pair of Jungle Jim cars staged side-by-side. With the power dialed down to 13.8 volts, Ninjatek's Nova ran a best of 1.502/7.74 in the left lane, while RV Racing's Vega went 1.042/12.37 in the right lane. The tech guys were quick to point out the Vega's rear tires are too tall under the revised NF/C rules, but Jungle said he was just out for a good time. Jungle Pam agreed. The T'n'T cars will be on their way home on Monday. The management of Lions Drag Strip points out that RV Racing's cars are not eligible to compete in the NTRA Finals, and were just filling out the field for test 'n' tune. OK, racers, one month until the NTRA season finale. Qualifying on October 16, eliminations on October 17. BE THERE! Thanks, Rick V.

Thanks Sam. Thanks Ninja for entering me. Can't wait to put a car together to race. Lions will be my first if I can get something put together by then. Wish I could of made the test and tune. Just have to go untested. Hope to learn from everyone on Psycho Slots.

One of Lions Drag Strip's roaming reporters got this spy shot of Hairy Canary's top secret NF/C, along with its lavish, high-tech transporter. With the GM plant in the background, I'm guessing this was taken at the site of the famous Fremont Drag Strip (RIP). I invited hairycanary to Lions to drive in the NTRA Finals, but he's going to Bakersfield for the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion to race a 1:1 Nostalgia Funny Car instead. How cool is that?! Cheers, Rick V.
