Chris here is a photo of another guy that is always strolling around the top of my desk, I could send him. I'm sure he would liven up the grudge match. I try to get him to drive some of my HO cars, but he can't seem to do it without his head and the gearshift exploding through the roof. Whatever. K

It's all over with. Much closer racing than was to be expected. Tim did a great job with your car Chris and should be commended. Here are the results and some photos. Sam,, First of all.. Thanks for the opportunity to be involved and have a great time albeit long distance! It was/is all good! For the rest of the members that have been following this: With the faceless internet ,it may have seemed we were really digging on each other,,we were only having fun, the taunts and minor name calling was predetermined ,well most of it..never the less it was all done in fun... It would have been fun to send this car to Sam,, and actually beat him on his home track, not likely to happen considering the differnces in track, power supply and basic set up for racing.. I lack alot. But just to pull off this whole race was a great experience.. That rig did not go direct to colorado.my son picked it up here on a trip through, then on to PA with a load then through ice and snow to Colorado..he wanted to get pics of it enroute..due to weather and time constraints it didn't happen... About Tim Warner: One of my best friends in the world...and a great slot builder/driver, My car arrived rather limp..he tested it , and retuned it for the track, cut the time in half nearly. As friends ,Tim and I have endured ups and downs in racing and life in general.. Always we have done our best to be there for each other.. this time Tim was there to help with this event.. without notice. This is Tim's nature all the way around..Should you be in the area and get a chance to meet him I suggest you do it... I hope everyone here enjoyed "the grudge" match I hope we do something like it again..it was fun.. Time to load up, and get it headed to the "new" garage in Nebraska.. See ya at the line Chris

Have to like low budget build ups. The AW cars actually ran pretty good for all stock parts. The only mods were adding wheelie bars, one more traction magnet, changing wheels/tires and adding braid to the pick up shoes. Thanks Chris. I had fun. Well there goes Bruno. What the heck man??? Leaving the scene of a double homicide.

Eccelent Post. An enjoyable read and so intence it threw me back to the old street racing days , the 60's , times so far back and full of fond memories.
Even thou in scale and a fantacy it would be nice to see this " saga " re-born and continued. Are the cars till alive ? Revivable ?
As i read the post, thought's of the movie Two Lane Blacktop entered my mind.

gonegonzo,
Two lane blacktop is a great movie.....lots of sweet cars in that film. I once read that James Taylor didn't know how to drive a four speed when he landed the role that let him pound on that '55 with the bigblock and 4 speed.

Not sure if Nightrider still has his. I think he does. This race here kind of started all the proxy racing going on nowadays and now the match races. Sam

;D well ,, the old man took back the 57, after taking my butt to the woodshed.. So.. all the parts wound up in a pile behind the shop for awhile.. However... uh,,, Sam.. might want to keep an eye in the mirror... and yur timing light working.. ya might just have to do some tuning... since the old man didn't like the idea of what I did.. I have to build my own this time... here we go again... shwwaaahhhhh... blap, pop, blappa,blabbpa.. later Chris..

What size brass angle did you use to make those wheelie bars Sam?

Hi Dave, sorry I missed this. I'll get a measurement on the brass. I had to bend it myself. Off the top of my head I want to say it .010"

Dave,,, you can also use the end of a xacto blade, the end that clamps in the handle.. cut it off the hole allows it to be screwed under the chassis.. solder the bars to it .. Wear safety glasses... !!! Chris
