Today the Black Top Raceway will run a local bracket race so we check everything out. This race is a tune up for the big race in January. I will post some pics later today with some commentary on how it went. |

Delivered the custom IR emitter gantries that I have been building for the revamped Blacktop Raceway today. Got them installed on the track and tested. After a few minor adjustments the testing went off without a hitch. I built them so that they can be put up and taken down easily on his portable track and was able to keep the cabling hidden. I will be building another set to be installed at Bear Creek Dragway before the March race. We did not get to do a full blown Bracket test race today, but we did get to play around with some new video ideas Robert has been working on. SUPER....SUPER.....COOL!!!  I think everyone is going to like what's coming. I know I am excited about it for sure. We already have quite a turnout with some new racers.......Welcome to you guys and girls!!!

What Jeff said pretty much says it all for our day. We had a blast!! The Blacktop is ready for racing!!

Did a trial run of setting up the track and realized after I had a sensor problem that I did not have extra track sensors if I needed to replace one. That has been corrected. Doing a lot of practicing with the video. Still have got some detail work left on the track, buildings etc.

New grandstands over tunnel leading to track and two more grandstands one on each side are now finished. Now all that is left is the paint work at the starting line . |

Finally got my replacement MM/PS built and painted for up coming race. I am truly amped for this race, looking forward to all the awesome cars that will be rolling into the Blacktop Raceway this coming week. |

Wishing everyone a good time at Blacktop for the first race of the year. Maple Grove Drag Strip should be back later this year with a new name if Cordell can find a spot. New name will be Maple Groove. Slight play on words. Right now now in Brooksville Fl taking car if issues as Mom as now with Dad up in heaven. Lots to do here but hope to be back on track soon!

Starting the foundry back up... ....here is a pic of bronze gears cooling in water. One of the gears is a 20T crown gear I modified in plastic. Then I make a wax model and then cast in bronze. I am getting real close to what I want. Then comes the fun part testing.  |

To Peter near Brooksville Florida,
Just got back to Dallas and sat down to get caught up on the happenings on Nitro. I would like to thank both you and Doug during the difficult time going through Moms estate. To be invited over to watch the race at Blacktop and also give personnel phone numbers to me in case I needed anything was something I will never forget.
