Like Kiwi said, the track is looking great. I see you will have 7 feet for shut down, will it be standard plastic track or flat steel?

Thanks fellows for great comments. Jeff, AJ (my wife for the rest of you) said she second that thought about never seeing it that clean..... . Phantom, the shutdown won't be that fancy, just plastic track. However, I will have what I call crumple zones..... These will stop a neo unlimited easy.

Got the driver stations installed, need to paint and decal them. All the wiring is now complete. IR emitters are installed and working. Here are the latest photos.

I love seeing the updates on our track, it makes it hard to wait for the Blacktop Raceway 2015 Summer Nationals

Here is a photo of the starting line grandstand. I thought I would share how I build it. I have shared this before but it has been awhile. I use a model railroading program. It will allow me to design pretty much any type building. The buildings will be built out of chip board. The outside design is paper glued to the chip board using an Elmer's stick glue. What I am going to show first is the front of the starting line grandstand. To make this I take measurements on the track for height and width. The grandstand will look like it has a tunnel and it will make kind of a horseshoe around track. The first photo is the center section front only.

Here is the next phase of the grandstand. The lower stands are added to each side. This gives the grandstand a wrap around effect. The next phase will be measurements for the sides and adding bracing.

I spent a long time on Nitroslots today trying to catch up on the racing and what's new. I must say this is the sweetest layout For Blacktop Raceway to date.

Thank you Hemi Hunter, a lot of planning went into this layout. I can hardly wait to race on it.

The new grandstand is complete. I modified the older buildings so I could use them. Old buildings and new grandstand gives the Blacktop a nice mix of old and new. The track is fast and smooth. I did a few test runs at 26 volts with a MM/PS. The car was in the fours and stopped with foot left. It did not even make it to the shut down box. The towels....I mean the high tech crumple zones worked flawlessly....
