Correct. That body will qualify and others. What is a Gasser? I have read the rules for them and kinda lost on it. Is it a 4 gear chassis or x traction? Neither. Gasser Class use any Tjet chassis, Aurora, AW, or JL. But for this class if you want to attempt to be competitive you need to upgrade the armature. Other mods like shunts, braids, adding tracton magnets, sillifoam tires, and wheelie bars can increase your chances. See Gasser Class examples here: nitroslots.com/index.cgi?board=mb2009&action=display&thread=1595The Mustang FC would qualify for MFC Class (Modern Funny Car, post 1985). For MFC Class, the armature upgrade and magnet upgrade would be needed to be competitive. The Pro Stock car could run in Doorslammer Class but would need the armature upgrade. The N/FC (Nostalgia Funny Car) is basically the 4G stock chassis with funny car body 1985 and earlier. See this link for examples of N/FC bodies. nitroslots.com/index.cgi?board=mnb&action=display&thread=2455

Ok now I understand the bodies for each class and what I would need to do. I was looking at hairycanary link and seen a jeep body that I like. I could use that in the n/fc class. Then for like the gasser class I could use a willys body and add a wheelie bar and change the things I need to change.

But I must add that it may be necessary to remove the body mounts on the newer 4G chassis to get it to fit. I know you are wanting to preserve use of the F-100 body. If you cut the chassis mounting tabs to fit the Jeep, you will then have to use the same mounting techniques on your F-100 to get it to fit that chassis again. This warning may be a bit premature. I am only basing this on the photo where the protrusion of the rear wheels make the body appear too narrow to accept the chassis body mounts. Best to PM hairycanary to get his opinion on this. The Willy's body is a popular choice for Gasser races. Other body style may qualify. Hey Taz, don't let all this get overwhelming. Alot to absorb. Found concentrating on upcoming race alot easier on my mind. When you catch-up on the class cars you'd like to run. It becomes alot easier to spend time tunning for race than when trying to do builds at the same time. My opinion, kind of time restricted for playing with cars. You might have more time to devote than I do. Hang in there, getting started is the hardest part. Don't let the results of your first outings get to you either. My first NITROSLOTS race was embarising, humiliating even!
GOOD LUCK at the races...............PC

TAZ, PCENG is a wise man. I too, was brand new to this, joined into the fun just in time to make the WINTER NATIONALS. I entered the only cars that I had at that time into the new4 gear stock class. I entered two cars that I got right out of the box. And you no what? I lost. The only car I beat was when I was against my own 2nd entry. But, now since that time, Like pceng said, I started picking up things from all of these pro's in here. Now, I will have at least one doorslammer in the up coming race. I might even have a chance this time. The point being, I had a blast, right where I started. Pick a class that you think you would like to build for, and start there. But, do start, and I think you'll get the hang of this in nothing flat. We are all eager to help. RACE ON

Been thinking all day at work what classes to run. I think if the blue and green body I posted early can work in the xtraction class I will use my chassis that has Daisy Dukes jeep on it and find another chassis for it. The the glasses class I would pick up a willys form autoworld and do that up to race. Could someone post pics of the under side of a willys. So I can see what everything looks like? Also where a good place for parts and also to make wheelie bar?

It might be easier to go with a body that is not going to need so much modifications as that VW. In the GASSER class the body must have some sort of Scoop or super charger on the hood. (VW motor is in the back) If I were you I would pick up a WIllY's body with the hood blower and go with something like that. I would go with the ULTRA-G chassis and drop in a MEAN GREEN armature. As far as parts: www.jaghobbies.com/www.lucky-bobs-slot-cars.com/Wheeley bars are something that you will have to build, check out the tutorial on this site. Kbuck

I though since in real car drags they call the bug a gasser it could be used as a slot gasser also. They didn't have the blowers sticking out of them at all. Some of the gassers I have seen as real cars didn't have the blower out the hood. Im not trying to start anything at all or bend rules. Just thought the false was based on real gasser drag cars?

You can go with the VW if you want. The Blower and scoop is a desired option. Ninja can give you the final say on the body style. Just trying to help. KABOOM

I know and if it does need a scoop it wouldn't be to hard ti make you just run it over the back glass to the roof of the car.
