So maybe in the future VW bodies will be able to race then? Is that what Im understanding kdog. I dont want to start anything at all or break rule or try and change to much. But for newbies who dont know to much on how to do body mods the VWs and Willys are good starters and little mods are needed. Im starting my Willys body now stripped the gold chrome off of it and getting ready to paint. I hope maybe one day VWs could be raced.

Hey guys, thought this might work here because its about the stock class and that an upcoming race figured this might help. Rules say 16 ohm arms, don't remember anything about # of lams. Can tri-lams be used? Sorry, stock class was only one I never printed out. .......PC

Hey tazman, pretty sure those rims are legal for the Gasser class. Just be sure to check the tire size. Here are the tire/wheel rules as they 'used' to be. I don't believe Ninja has changed any of them for the Gasser class. "WHEELS, REAR: After Market aluminum or mag type wheels are permitted. Wheels should be similar to a prototype wheel. " "Tires,Rear: Tires must be BLACK. After- market racing tires are permitted. All four Tires must be of sufficient diameter so as to contact track when car is in a normal on –track attitude. Tires may be bonded to the wheels. Minimum diameter .382”. Maximum diameter allowed is .485” Maximum tire width allowed is 9/32.” (.28125) Tires may be of constructed of any material. This includes Silicone, rubber, Foam, coated foam and any other proprietary blend offered to the HO race market in general and readily available. White wall tires are permitted" Ron (Bondo)

For STOCK SPORTSMAN CLASSES (Stock, Super Stock) only two lam arms are allowed. Below is a portion of the general armature rules for STOCK SPORTSMAN CLASSES: Armatures: AURORA Stock Thunderjet or Model Motoring 16 ohm armatures, only. All armatures shall be of copper clad, two-lamination design, with a resistance reading at each pole to be not less than 16.000 ohms." (Johnny Lightning, Aurora Wild ones, Aurora AFX, Aurora Speed wound, Aurora Tuff ones, as well as Model Motoring Thunder Plus armatures, are specifically prohibited.Complete STOCK SPORTSMAN CLASS rules at this link: www.nitroslots.com/index.cgi?board=scl&action=display&thread=1626

Hey Cordell, Thanks for the reply. Tri-lam came from new 4g that tuff-one arm went into. 16.0 each pole, stock jets came to mind. Trying to get more into stock classes. And trying everything I can think of to get my stock jet to go faster. But maybe I just have a weak one. I'll keep trying. thanks again.........Peter

Ok I wanted to ask about a body. I picked up a pit kit with chassis and body for auto world a couple days ago. Its a Thunder Jet 500 chassis with a 67 vette body. I need to paint it and all but can it be used in the gasser class? I was planing on make it one and have two gasser cars. Heres some pics and also can i use the wheels and tires that are on it to. They are all stock but silicone slip ons.At least I think silicone. Also I dont remember if I asked this style of wheel can be used in the stock t-jet class or dose it have to be the what I see them as a pizza cutter wheel like thats on the front.

Yes, the blown Vette body is fine for the gasser class. The wheels and tires are also legal for gassers but I prefer to run sili-foam tires on the gassers unless they are run at a lower voltage. The wheels for the stock t-jet class look like this Matt

Ok thank you. Will the new rear wheels maybe come into to play sometime since auto world puts the wider rears on? I already have the right ones on one car.

The AW chassis isn't legal for the stock t-jet class so I doubt the wheels will be legal anytime soon. The AW/tuff-ones sized wheels are legal in the Super Stock t-jet class.

Hey Taz, as far as our NTRA Proxy Racing goes, there are no inline classes at all. Every class is based on a 'pancake' type car. The Tycos are allowed in the ISRA Pro Stock classes, but those were only run once or twice, and as far as I can see, there are no races scheduled for them this year, and probly not in the future either unless more people show an interest in them. The racers that want to race them will probly need to wait til the end of this year and 'petition' the NTRA to race them. . In that class, any inline was allowed. However, the Tycos just could not compete. Everyone ran a SG+ car, with modifications. I know, I ran a Tyco in one race. Was a fast car (in the .4's on a scale 1/4 mile) but just couldn't compete, as the SG+ based cars were in the .3's! I ended up selling the car. Wish I still had it, now that I actually am working on my own track. Coulda made my own classes for them. Ron (Bondo)
