While the Slot Dragon system does not support bracket racing, there is a way. You can't use the system and program in any dial ins, it only works in a 'heads up' fashion. BUT..if you are willing to do a LOT of math..LOL...it can be done. Somewhere here on NS there was a conversation about how to do it in the past, it requires a WHOLE bunch of addition and subtraction to determine the numbers and winners or losers. Personally, I think it's a LOT of work doing it that way..lol. Just the thought of it gives me a headache! ;D Ron (Bondo)

BRACKET RACE TESTWe ran our first bracket race to test out the new dial in tool ninjatek came up with. This dial in tool allows the racer a lot more input on how they want to run their race car. The dial in tool preformed just as it was designed to do. Each of the racers ran a different strategy. I choose a 3% dial in with a regression of 1 to stop at 1. What that means is if I ran a 1.000 my dial in would be .970 it would do it for 1 round then the next round it would do it at 2%, then the next round 1% and stay that way the rest of the race. That is assuming I win ;D The idea is the get the racers involved in the race and it does. It allows you as a racer to develop a strategy for the race. It is in testing stages and we will continue to report on how it works, now for a few pics.

So I chose a different dial-in percentage and regression strategy ("looser", so to speak). As the race progressed, my dial-ins and E.T.'s did keep getting closer and closer, but I never broke out! This will work especially well for those who have not bracket raced before--anyone can be competitive with any type of car without a lot of experience or extensive knowledge.

Major Test of Bracket Race Dial In Tool 12 Car Field Last Night We are going to give you information on how this race was run. First we qualified all cars in each lane two runs each. The Dial In Tool (from this point on referred to as the DIT). The DIT automatically avgs. all times and selects your best lane for you, very cool . Now it is time to select your dial in. There was quite a variety of strategies here. Some choose 5% off time with a factor of 1% and stopped at 3%. What does that mean? QT-1.250 take 5% off Dial In is 1.188 a factor of 1% next round 4% next round 3%. You told it to stop at 3% it does. The DIT worked great! We only had 2 break out. Of course we had some red lights. The race action was great. We ran the race just like a regular race. The ladder has positions for how you qualify 1 through 12. So qualifying matters for positions. The better you qualify the better chance you have to run fewer races for the win. For example in this race Jeff was #1 and Tim was #5. Each of these racers made it to the finals. Jeff ran 5 races for the win. Jeff never lost until the finals. Tim ran 9 races going through loser's bracket to the finals. In the finals Tim now has to beat Jeff twice. Tim won the first race and lost the second. Jeff wins the bracket race. So in closing get your cars ready because we are ready to host the first NTRA BRACKET RACE!!!!

So who decides what the dial in is? Are a series of passes made at the host track and averaged to come up with a dial in? Never mind after I reread the post I answered my own dumb question. Count me in.
