I will probably tweak my last entry a bit. Thinking of experimenting with magnet set up. One upgrade I will have to do is shorten those header pipes some so my opponent can at least fit on the track with me without having to dissect their car. Thinking of doing a second AW conversion. Will probably shorten the body by 25%. I have an idea for something a little different for wheelie bars. Oh yeah, got an engine being built by one of those race shops in Texas. Aiming for demon status in the Pro series. But right now got to take it all for me to reach that goal. Help my odds, I need more people to beat . . . , I mean more people to sign up. Hmmm...race shops in Texas? Already tweaking on mine, plus getting the detail work finished that didn't get done last time. Have a brand new 'bullett' for it, FAR better than the one that was in it, and a few more 'tricks' being worked on as we speak. Looking for a LOT quicker runs out of it this time! Actually, I AM keeping the arm that was in it for my new Doorslammer for this year (yep, Pistonator IS retired..lol) considering it ran VERY well for a 'stock' arm, but actually just adding and beefing up what's already in the FED. Should be a LOT more competitive for EVERYONE this time around! That's one reason I like it when we can run at least two races for each class we run every year. Gives everybody a chance to do some more tuning! Ron (Bondo)

I'm kind of thinking like Eagle. If it ain't broke......Well my F.E.D. is still in good shape. Nothing torn up or damaged. Been too busy with the track to do anything with it at this point ( track obviously takes priority ). But there are a few things that did not get done that I will do before the race. Should help it a little. F.Y.I.....I did run faster on my track than what was run at Blacktop Raceway. Enough said

I'm getting really tempted to build one of these. I like the chance to think outside the box and try different things. This class allows for a lot of experimentation.

Chriswfo..... You need to build one. There is a good possibility that this class will be run again at the next race in April. Did I mention it's fun to go fast.

The FEDs will also run at the Summer Nationals along with the rest of the pro classes at the Blacktop Raceway. So for all you racers that are thinking about it, stop that before you burn your light bulb out Besides ninjatek said he needs more people to beat...race

JJ, mine ran faster on the local track also. At the race mine ran a .813 and a .816. It ran a .70 @ 18 mph here straight out of the mail box. The only tweaking I did after that run was remove one traction magnet and the car went .68 @ 20 mph. That's running battery power at 25.6 volts, 16' timed section. Must be the thin air For your race I'll be sticking with Tjetsgrig power. Kbuck, I'll have my FED's bodies up For Sale next weekend. I'm going to do a few mods and also mold the body post into the body this time. I'll be doing a special price on the FED's for anyone new to the class and building a car for this race $7 Free Shipping Sam

That's good info. Sam for your race coming up. Kind of gives me a reference on track speed. That's pretty huge....a full tenth. We see that when we run at Lion's as well. Good luck at the race. I will have the track in the best condition possible.

4g with LL can making good passes, time to get to work on body. Stock pick-up system (wired to brush contacts, have to see how it sits when body is done before going to braids).
Hey Chriswfo, whip something-up, fun class to run. One never knows what one might see ...lol

PC, I was looking at the parts I have and have some extra bare chassis's. I also have some shunt wire as well as a pair of brush cups. I'll need a good arm and some strong magnets as well as a body. I have some ideas to try, I'll need some .059 ID bushings. I'm trying to learn a little more about timing an DC motor.

Hey Chris, if your winding arms I think 15 degrees is about max to advance. T-jets and 4g have opposite rotations. What works in one could be severally retarded in the other. Good Luck
Hope to see you at the races ....... Peter

Here is an update on my build. Picked up some Neo Dots from KJ Magnetics that are 2 times as strong as the rare earth mags from Radio Shack. I'll still be playing around with the Quad set up. I made my magnet set up into somewhat of a quick change for tuning by cutting out the bottom part of the chassis that holds the mags in and drilling holes into the side of the chassis so I could use straight pins to hold the resin blanks in place. This way I can pull them out from the bottom without pulling the chasssis clip and screw. I'll also be running ball bearings. These bearings are perfect for running .059" (Tyco Size) axles. You can buy them here: www.ebay.com/itm/290749723278?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
