Hairy Canary, Bondoman, SKR and Eagle Racing all have bodies or you can convert an A/W rear engined dragster over. Ninja did one for the last race and it turned out really nice. I know there's something on here about how Ninja did it,but I'll be darned if I can find it.

Does anyone know where I can get a F.E.D. body? Hairy Canary, Bondoman, SKR and Eagle Racing all have bodies or you can convert an A/W rear engined dragster over. Ninja did one for the last race and it turned out really nice. I know there's something on here about how Ninja did it,but I'll be darned if I can find it. Took a while to find it but here is the summary description of doing an AW conversion. Not a complete tutorial but gives a general idea. All cuts done with a Dremel cut-off wheel. For a budget build, AW conversion is the way to go. To build the way I did, all you will need to add to a stock AW TF dragster is a small peice of styrene to enclose the driver. Here is what I have come up with. This is what can be done with just the available stock TF parts. Remove driver, lower windsheild to make engine compartment, put engine where driver was, enclose driver at nwe location. To finish this up I will be making an engine swap, adding some silli- foam tires from eagleracing, and throwing on some SKR front spoke wheels. To be a little bit competitive I will dropping in a 3.2 ohm arm. Oh yeah, and some decals. Here is how the enclosure for the driver is made from four small peices of styrene. Driver's enclose. If the front wheels are too tall I may have to stick with the stock front wheels. If I have time I will use an alternative front suspension to mount spoke wheels if too tall. Front suspension.

Hey TGM. Still have some bodies (plus getting ready to cast more too). Try shooting me another pm, not sure what happened but I never got one from you, going all the way back to November (I never delete my pm's...LOL). If you just posted as a message I might have missed it. Ron (Bondo)

Looking good Chris.
Did some testing last night with my FED. I put polymer motor magnets back in and the car liked them much better running a best of .56. Not giving up on the quad set up, just need to do some rethinking. Plans for today is to get a new body painted up. Cars will head out on Tuesday morning.

Been picking gear parts up off the track for the last several days. Haven't had much time to work on my F.E.D. since I've been getting the track ready. Didn't have any trouble preparing for last race. This time I can't keep any gears in it. Still running basically a stock gear train for this race due to time. Found some more speed and I guess that put it over the top. Only a few days left. Ran a best of .50 before destroying the crown gear....again. Don't want to sit this one out. Crown gears are what I see as a big problem with the 4 gear chassis. I'm sure it's the weak point on my FED. To fit the 20 tooth gear I had to make it thin and there wasn't much left to grab the axle. Hopefully the JB Weld will hold for this race while I come up with a better solution.
