We are not too far apart, about 3.5 hours. I live in West Knoxville Tennessee. Came from hot old Florida where we lived for 32 years. Ever get in the area bring some cars with you, we can match race. I would order the gold pickups and springs for better conductivity and reliability. The gold pickups I found to be more consistent without using braid. I have never tried the Decosmo bulkhead since the BSRT has worked well for me. Besides the brushes are in the wrong place for the BSRT as they are inline with the magnets. Have not tried shunts on the BSRT, don't think they will make much difference but I will try them in the future. Personally I think your car will be a killer if you go with that chassis. You missed the recent Outlaw race where the cars were really flying. I think you would have liked that. See the Welcome racers thread for the full story.

Thanks for the info Dave. I guess that's what I will be going with then. You guys sure know alot more about these than I do. Would you buy the bsrt and run just like it comes or would you use a decosmo bulk head and add high performance parts to the car like the adjustable brush barrels and all silver electronics. Also if you did that would shunt wires help or am I over killing with all that for the amperage. Also on this car what gears would you use for 20ft of track. I think I stinks I wish they would bump up the amps and voltage I would like to see if I could build a real car lol. That's why I'm gonna fix a track here at home I hate to buy all those parts and fix a car and not see how it runs. I run them on a 9volt battery and do it by ear as of this second. Dave I noticed you live in Tennessee I'm in ky off of I 65 exit 65 in munfordville KY. My two mm/ps cars are G3's. The one with DeCosmo T-bulkhead is .0300 faster than BSRT parts car. Consistently, at varying NTRA events for past year. ........ Peter

I think you will be happy with that chassis. Nothing I have tried right out of the box has come close. Having your own track and timing device adds a whole new world to running the cars.

Peter how did you get the Decosmo bulkhead to work on the BSRT chassis, (90 degrees difference), or was that on a different chassis/different armature?

Yea Knoxville ain't too far away maybe I can drop by some day I'm gonna try the bsrt I will order the gold electrical too. She is so hard to beat not because of the car but she is super fast on take off. That's why I want the slot dragon to get her reaction time. I have actually been thinking of building a Jr dragster for her to run. Those motors I know I can build and make go fast since I grew up around racing and building my own street cars. The s10 on my profile pic is a91 with a 383 striker its just a toy but fun Peter I forgot to awnser all of your question. Her real name is kaleigh. My real name is Lewis. I don't care a bit if she is on here everyone is super polite here but she would have everyone drove crazy. Lol she is really really smart and like to talk about things that most people don't including me like the space nebula and off the wall stuff. She took a test in school where they compare kids agenst all the other scores in the us she scored in the top 5 scores in three subjects and in the top 10. In her other two. They tried to skip her classes and all That but want her to stay with her age so Tha she can still be a kid. She can already read and do math and science better than me and she is 9 lol make me and her mom feel real smart lol

Like the S10, my current driver is an S10. My son used to drive an S10 with a 350 in it. I am still a boy at heart. My toys just got more expensive. Here are a couple of shots of the Beretta I used to race sitting in that nice 1200 sq. ft. garage in Fla. That's the only thing I miss about Fla. All fiberglass body, full chrome moly chassis, all aluminum 632. The last photo is of a time slip for the 1/8th mile. 4.77 seconds @ 152.9 mph. It would make the newest Corvette/Ferrari/Superbike look like they were towing a boat.
That car had a 60' time of 1.07 seconds. The little cars we race would murder it in a 60' race. Junior dragsters are very popular. Reaction time is not important there since they use the blinker tree. It requires good timing but not reaction time. I used to have a female friend who I raced against in the pro mod. She would get me on the tree at times. My car was a little quicker however. One night we lined up and I went up in smoke right on the line, unfortunately for her her car died on the line. She wrecked at near 200mph survived without much injury but never drove again.

It might murder it in a 60 ft but nowhere near as fun lol. I would absolutely love to run a car like that. Maybe one day I can afford to build me one I got a part time job offer to work on a top alcohol dragster team I would love to do it but there just getting into it and cant pay what I make now so I'm not gonna be able to. 50,000 a year ain't much but it sure beats the britches off of 30,000.. I think I have seen Tha car at beech bend did you race in nhra.

It is hard to describe the feeling of nutty acceleration to someone. I let my son take it down the track once even though he did not have a racing license and it pulled his leg right off the accelerator when he left the line. I did everything myself on the car as far as motor building and everything else on the car except the tranny. Had a guy who did my glides for many years with few problems so I stuck with him. Still cost about a thousand a month to run once a month plus one test and tune session. Car cost about 60K but for a car like that it was a budget car. Then you still need a tow vehicle, trailer, quad runner to move it back on the return road + winch, tools etc. Had to freshen the glide every 25-50 or so passes as it would eat clutches pretty good. Will never forget the memories of racing and don't regret it one bit.
Never went out of Fla. with it. I don't know where the car is now. I sold it to a guy in Texas who wrecked it twice. After the second time I never heard from him.

Ooh I forgot to mention my other speed toy its called a edge piranha. Its a one seat dune buggy very small about the size of a Honda odyssey. It has a gsxr 1000r crotch rocket motor on it they come from Australia I bought mine partly finished from a friend that built it from the blue prints you can buy from edge. Search them on google. It has a top speed of about 150.there a blast

My full size drag racing days are over, retired now can't afford it anymore. We have about 4 drag strips within an hour of where I live. Only went to one of them since I moved to Tennessee. I may be nuts but I am not going 150 in a Dune Buggy!!! I remember those light poles going by at 150+ in the drag car, that was enough. If you get a chance to stay at the finish line at a drag strip and listen to those cars come at you. My son who was driving the tow vehicle down the return road said they sounded absolutely viscous coming at you at those speeds.

Lol I ain't going to either that's a lil fast in a over grown go cart lol that's what it should run easily. I have had it to about 120 @3/4throttle and backed out of it it's very shaky at That speed

If it don't scare ya, it ain't fast enough! ...........mmmmmm , I've gone over 200 in a car and on a motocycle........... being on the road scares the bejezus out of me. Think they changed the test from driving to stupid. 60 mph got my heart pumping more than any other racing. Butt 1.5 inches off the ground in a kart. 15 or 20 of them that all want to make the same left at the beginning of a race was always a rush. Used to take me til.tuesday before calming down. Had one land on me once. ......... Peter
