I agree with that Bill, none of the hot classes such as 2.5 or unlimited will run on low amp wall warts. 2.5 modified's will be slow and the Unlimited's will not even move. I suggest keeping the tire rules simple such as one max diameter for all classes except dragsters which will have larger diameter tires. Dave I have not had the opportunity to talk to Kiwidave yet. This was a bit of a surprise. I value his and everyones input especially on this subject. I like your idea. It will be kept simple. Thanks.

JJ just a thought on tires. T-jet type chassis max height diameter .410. Stock AFX 3 gear type .490. Stock AFX 4 gear type .550. Stock inline .450-.490.Alot of these tire sizes are stock from the factory out of the box. Now with heavily modified chassis with high down force traction magnets,D/S Pro Mod I feel the diameter should be what ever fits inside the wheel well if the body is slammed. If the racer chooses not to slam the body than a restriction needs to apply to those builds.Dragsters an Altereds with now fenders can be what ever makes the car run best.

Body rules (particularly minimum weight) was set up so that a customizer who gets into the spirit of the class doesn't feel at a disadvantage for sending in a heavier car. I know some could care less about preparing a body for each class and that should never be an issue either. It'll ultimately be up to a race host on what they want to run at their race. I ask that you'll keep an open mind and take into consideration all competitors taste and preference. I like having classes that you can easily identify by the appearance but also don't want to deter anyone from competition because a body is not period correct.
Thoughts?
All body class rules below are suggestions only and up to the race master to enforce. The only mandatory rule for each class is the minimum weight rule with the exception of open and unlimited. This allows the competitor to get into the spirit of the class without worrying about a weight disadvantage. Race masters do not need to own a scale. One will be provided for the event if needed. Poster putty will be added to the underside of the body for cars that do not meet the minimum weight requirements. Poster putty can also be provided to race masters if needed. |

Sam that looks great to me. Very thorough! I guess this is probably the place that tire sizes would be since there is a chassis designation. Here is what Kiwidave and I have come up with on maximum tire sizes. Taken into consideration were prior rules, recent suggestions, and some of what is available as far as tires go. I think this is very simple and hopefully meets everyones wants and needs. Racemasters can dictate what is allowed at their event on the race thread if they choose to.
- Tjet, MT/XT all builds: .490 - 4 gear Stock, Super Stock: .560 - 4 gear Comp, Super Comp, and Unlimited: unlimited - Inline all builds: unlimited
Tjet and MT/XT is slightly larger than what has been run previously (.485) as well as 4 gear Stock and Super Stock (.560). Decided to go unlimited on 4 gear Comp, Super Comp, and Unlimited based on AW TF stock tire size (.627) and the new Superjet Superslicks (.666). Inline has always been unlimited.

Tire rules look great to me. All the other rules look good and leaving it up to the Racemaster to decide what they want at their race is fine with me. The weight minimum is not one of my favorite rules however. In some cases it is a real pain to add enough weight to some cars as the interior is very restrictive. I have not found weight, in most cases,(the truck that won the recent PSO class was the heaviest in the class), to be much of a disadvantage and some racers do not have a gram scale for setting up their cars. I think that the weight minimums should also be up to the Racemaster at his event. As long as we are not going to disqualify somebody for not having a proper body and are suggesting what type to use that is fine also. I don't want to see an Ice Cream Truck racing but it would give me a laugh and yes some street cars I have driven in the past would have lost to an Ice Cream Truck but I never took them to the track!!! Did run my tow truck, without the trailer, down the track once!!!! Still remember the time, 11.9 @ 59 mph in the 1/8th.

These are only guidelines of chassis builds that have been popular for NTRA racing in the past. These guidelines are not mandatory for each race host to follow as it is their event, therefore they have the final say on what is legal. Race host MUST post their own rules for their event(s). All rules for the events will be posted on the entry list thread at the time the entry list is created.
2017 is shaping up to be action packed and will once again have some of the best HO Drag Racing tracks from all around the world hosting NTRA racing. I invite everyone from newbies to the most experience to get in on part of the action and join us for some friendly competition. All it takes is a slot car or two and a passion for drag racing. There are no membership fees. Entry fees for each event is just the cost of return shipping (usually $7). Sign up for the next event today!
Enough of the rule talk......Let's go racing!

Dave, I haven't noticed if anyone does a turbo yet. I'm referring to Pro Mod bodies with basically a flat hood (compared to the ones with monster hood scoops) and headers dumping out the side of the fender.
Hey Mac, not sure about Al... he deleted his own account. Maybe just taking a break? He emailed me about some other stuff yesterday and I forgot to ask.

Tricky Ricky has gone turbo?? I have not heard that. He's been nitrous for a long time. Everybody seems to be leaning toward turbos these days. That guy is a self proclaimed bad a$$.....and can back it up!!

I noticed Turbo was added to the body rules. Does anybody make an HO Turbo? I have not seen one. Dave I have done several "one off" twin turbo builds. Mostly just trying to do something a little different than another blower car. Sam's turbo Mustang he is currently working on is the only casting I have ever seen. Looking forward to that one for sure.
