The saga continues, replaced back axle with one from a tommy turbo and sleeved that where the axle clicks in, worked almost perfect, but over night the plastic deformed and I'm back at the start, also the void section broke through have now filled the void space behind the axle to strengthen the rear section, only to find the rear part of the chassis is bending,. Also purchased some jewellers screws and fine drills to pin the rear section but there ain't much to drill through. Oh dear what to do next, The other guys in the group haven't experienced these issues but their cars haven't done nearly as much work as these have. Will keep you posted.

No problem on this site. Some other sites are horrible if you post something that mentions a product or another site. I don't go to those sites. I am thinking of putting a hot arm/motor magnets in one of the Jag chassis to see how it works out. There was one entered in the Spring Nats 2.5 class that ran pretty good.

I've been playin' around kinda too. I had some Tyco 3.5's and put one in a TR3 (stock mags) but haven't been able to get it to hook up properly yet. Still trying though, haven't give up . If that should go well at some point, I have some tyco 2.8's I'd like to try also . Are you allowed to share whose Jag was in the 2.5 class? I just wanna go back to the timing pics you posted and see what it did. I might be able to figure it out by just checking out the entries so no big deal either way. G

Has anyone else experienced what Sandfly is going thru? I did put some different gearing in a TR3 but did it on the stock axle and didn't notice any issues yet. I do know the bare chassis is a bit 'fragile', IMO. Before I was informed about securing the armature bushings and the brush tubes, I deformed one of the tabs that hold the brush tubes in and it was messin' with the alignment of the brush tube. I ordered another bare chassis but before it got here, I carefully heated the old chassis with a heat gun, adjusted that deformed tab and then submerged the chassis in cold water. It stayed put and so far so good, the brush tube is aligned. G

Looks to me like the axle could be pinned fairly easily like the G3 chassis. If I experience that problem that's what I will do. If there is too much axle play I think I would try super glue to true it up. If the axle is popped out after the super glue application, it obviously is going to flake out. But I have used super glue on normal axle hole to clean up the slop and it works very well. You clean the axle and the chassis with alcohol then apply a very small amount of super glue and work the axle till it dries completely. Then oil like normal. The pinning should take care of the axle popping out and still allow for changing the axle easily. I may try that and see how it work when I get my cars back. I have not had any problem at all with either chassis though. I'm going to put my focus on the DR-1 and TR-3....I really like that platform. Viper sees that and wants a piece of the pie.
