How do you like the interference Pearl? First attempt, a few days ago too. Tried purple Pearl interference on a purple car with silver flames. Only used a few pinches with tweezers in about 1/8oz. of clear. (was told a little goes a long way). Most noticeable effect is a bluish cast in the flames at certain angles. Definitely a learning experience with this. Not sure if more would be better of it should be applied to a more contrasting color. What are your thoughts? I liked the Interference Pearl but I think I used more than I intended. I'm not much further along than you are Bill. I have only used them a couple of times myself. I like the possibilities and the variety of powders that are available. The only reason I haven't been using them is because of the clear problems I had been having. So I've been cheating and using the rattle can. This is the first car I've cleared with the airbrush in awhile. Got a new compressor and it solved the problem. I want to figure out a way to accurately measure so we can communicate what we are doing. I have no idea how much I used on the Mustang. I just scooped some out of the baggie and put it in the cup. I kind of had pictures in my head of stars on a black night. What I got was a deep blue sky that flip flops to black. Not what I had pictured, but still pretty cool and still subtle. Pictures don't do it justice. It also picks up on the colors around it like a pearl should. I think different ones can be used on contrasting colors or same shade colors. I guess it would depend on what you are wanting. I watched Iron Resurrection on TV and their painter was mixing in these powders and it was amazing what they were doing. They could change the outcome dramatically just by altering the amount of powder. Anyway....I think the sky is the limit with this stuff. I am wanting to try some ghost flames on something next using these powders. Be sure and post up what you are doing. I'm anxious to see your results.

Jeff your Mustang came out freaking awesome !!! Great job on the detailing. I bet it does all kind of tricks in the sun light. Glade you got your clear problem solved😃 very frustrating. I’m at the same level or lower than you and Bill are at on the pearl powder. Think it’s got a lot of possibilities for some cool stuff. I’ve been adding very little powder to the clear so far. I’m thinking of mixing it with some non metallic silver for a base coat ? All the metallic paints I’ve been trying the sparkle has been to big. I’ll post some pics this weekend of some I’ve been working on lately. Been painting stuff cuz my tuning has been a disaster.

There are a couple of your cars that I've seen in the past that I thought maybe you had added some pearl or metallic to. One I think was the Aces Wild Willys. If I remember right it has some very light metallic in it and another was one of the yellow cars. Can't remember which one exactly, but it had the same light metallic effect. When I say light metallic, it was like only a few flakes, nothing heavy. Does that make sense?

Oh yeah!! That's what I'm talking about. Looks really good and that is a great color combo. I wish I could see it in person. I'm sure it twinkles nice in the light. I am ready to do another one. Thanks Bill!

One of two DR-1 dragsters ready for the 2024 Ice Drags coming up! I have had these decals for awhile now and am glad to finally use them. The #2 dragster will be a solid color with some flake added to the clear. Pay no mind to the messy desk.......
