Na holden inline 6 with auto, easy peasy when i find one. Isn't Holden GM? There was a good running Inline six back in the early 2000s I think, is that the one?

GMs Atlas engine was an Inline 6 made between 2002-2012, it had F.I. along with individual coils per cylinder. They had up to 253 cu in, 4.2L, and they were used in light duty trucks. It was competitive with V-8s of similar size and some races were won with it. The old stovebolt 6 was around for many years, from the 20s to the 80s. I had a couple of those in my much younger years.

The old in-line six was an extremely reliable engine and very easy to work on. Performance parts were available for them, if that interests you. Clifford Research is onemanufacturer who comes to mind. Their motto was 6=8.
Looks like a fun project!

One of my close friends and class mate, Gary Hindman was the cover car for Clifford Research 72 catalog. The car was a 300ci ford with Weber carbs amd ran H/MP. I have a set of the 240-300 ford viper headers hanging in my garage.

Some of the old sixes could be made to run very well. I remember some getting into the 11s back in the 70s when that was very quick.

Didn’t Rick, aka Hairy Canary share a story with us about a first generation Vette powered by a straight 6 that was a world record holder?
Back in Miami when I was a teen, I remember identical looking white 67 Camaros facing off at Hollywood speedway. One had a 292 truck 6 which beat the other with a 454.

Wow... gotta love those straight sixes! Had a 261 Chevy with twin Rochesters' and later a 302 GMC with 3 Strombergs. On cruise nights it was amazing how many people had to come over and check out my cars and motors.
Check this out:

Only two weeks to go, then its rest time, Racing tonight at Impala Raceway, cars are still in their boxes so this should be the week they perform, hopefully. No doubt Po the ice man has prepped the track so it should be all on. Pony boy has had a few days off work so he will be on it, unsure of the will's boys. Will report back tomorrow how things went.

Well that was a fine nights racing, the ice man Po put on a spectacular light show with his xmass lights and some of us got carried away with the blow up display. Never mind the chit chat, on to the racing. The sandfly cars that were supposed to go fast after the big clean 3 weeks ago were on point, these boys got chicken dinners, the 52 chev nostalgia, cuda inline, macs tools top fuel. 2nd went to jungle jim nostalgia, 52 chev in truck. 3rd ole yella in truck, plus a bunch of 4ths, so all in all a good result. There was plenty of race fuel drunk and a few stories from pony boy. Next week is the last week of racing at the fastest ole rattle track in the neighborhood, there will be some close racing as there are a few classes where the points are close.

Its race night, its raining catsndogs, and its the final nights racing of the year. This all happens at Mustang Alley the fastest ole rattle track in the neighborhood, but you have heard all about that before. Ole pony boy last night over a few quiets recons his track is mint, tho he hasn't touched it for a week. Being the last night there will be some tense racing as some classes are led by only a few points. The sandfly team should rap up inline and truck divisions and are hoping for a good showing in top fuel to take out 2nd place. After tonight camp mother will add all the points and will release the winners and placers in each division. Will let you guys know how that pans out for every one.
