Well that was fun, every one turned up that was 7 drivers, every one must have had itchy feet. Pony boy Paul arrived straight from work and was right into the drinking. Poor ole Ron the train guy had a few cars that couldn't get down the track due to issues. The record board slowly filed up during the night and i will look and see if any one was faster than last year, but i dont think so. The Sandfly team came away with records in top fuel, 4 gear pro-mod and inline. Chicken dinners in truck, inline and pro-mod. The new class of Vintage gas was included in the 4 gear nostalgia field, this may change. The boys started arriving at 6.45 and Matt the crump was last to leave at 12pm, was a big night. The gasser line up. Next week we are at camp mothers Moonshine Park.

I am envious of the fact that you guys can get together and race. I like the proxy racing but actually getting together has to be a blast.

Its getting easier with the more tracks that join so we are running less events at our home tracks. Matt the crump will be next on the list with a great 1/4 mile custom track in his new shed.

You've got that right Dave! I second that. Eagle Racing and I have gotten together and actually had a 4 race points season one year just between us but I've never experienced more than two racers. It's awesome how close you guys are to one another and the commitment to the racing. The tracks are top shelf and so are all the cool Kiwi cars. I really enjoy the postings and appreciate you taking the time to do so Sandfly!

You know what day it is, its race day, racing at Moonshine park, camp mother and lawn mower man Alan were at it last night doing secret testing, no so secret that i didnt know about it, sent a couple of cars down the track, that was enough for me. So we shall see if from last weeks efforts who has improved their cars. picks to follow tomorrow.

Well lets say its never a dull moment when other track promotors have a say in race results, we have a rule when a race starts and one car doesn't move off the line, then the race is rerun with lanes being swapped, however we had two races last night where this happened, in the first race the car that left the line red lit while the other car didn't move, as the first infraction is the red light because the race hasn't started then the red light counts and the stalled driver gets the win, i thought that was an easy decision, wrong but the result stood after a few minutes of discussion. The next race that this happened in the car with lane choice drove away to lay down a great time in their preferred lane, and in doing so had warmed up more than it would have before the race started, the car that didn't move then had the better lane and the car was not over warmed as the other car was, needless to say the car that won the first race went a lot slower in the rerun and was beat. I think this local rule needs to be relooked at. So back to the racing six drives ventured to Moonshine Park for an awesome nights racing with heaps of stories and some brilliant racing. Please take note this is the only time i will show you guys the record board, har. If you look closely you may be able to read last years records. The guys who participated, the ice man Po, Pony boy Paul, camp mother Grant, Matt the crump and just on the edge lawn mower man Alan. The sandfly crew did a good job and had three chicken dinners, ole yella in truck, cuda in inline and mac's in top fuel. We came away at the end of the night with three records as well in top fuel- mac's, Truck- 52 chev, inline- cuda. Next week we move to Impala raceway to be hosted by the ice man.

first is worse! red light always loses. my live racing rules are, when both cars are staged it is a race regardless of outcome. standard NHRA rules come into play with "first is worse" as the basis. if someone red lights, the other car doesn't even have to make the pass. I respect that everyone has a different perspective and honor what ever rules are in place when I race elsewhere. hope there are no hard feelings about the situations and you can all continue having fun. always appreciate the news and results of your racing. be well, stay safe, keep the shiny side up and between the ditches.

As Al said if you red light you lose no matter what the other driver does UNLESS he crosses the center line or hits the wall. That's how it was when I raced full size.

Actually I believe the NHRA rule is "First or Worst". Meaning if a car red lights, but the other car makes a pass and crosses the center line or hits the wall. That car loses. I will verify this today, but I believe that is actually correct.....FYI.

Yes, "first or worst" is what I believe the rules state.
