Need i say its pissing down here this morning and has been for two days, so tonights racing should be at the ice mans track, impala raceway. All the boys will be there except for pony boy who is having a holiday in straila. thought i had found a winner, took an old top fueler out of the cupboard and ran it at 24 volts, time was very acceptable, put some new feet and tires on and boom what a rocket was slightly faster than the record, so i put the chassis in a jungle jim body set it to 18 volts and it as just faster than the record, thought i had a winner, until later i remembered it was a green arm car, boo ho, never mind had the other guys going a treat, so prepped some of the cars and tested others, we shall see what happens.

Five drivers turned up at the ice man's track, impala raceway. The night kicked of with a round a shots to welcome every one back. The sandfly drivers had a ok nights racing with chicken dinners in truck, 52 chev, inline, cuda and top fuel with the mac's car. So we are back to mustang alley next week so long as pony boy stays healthy.

Yip its race night at Mustang Alley, ole pony boy has come back from straila, have heard from no one, so have no idea what has been going on or who will turn up. My cars have had another no prep week, so we shall see.

So im back at work following the easter break. Racing didnt go well for the sand fly team, in saying that we did improve the Top fuel record, the team drivers were too concerned about red lighting in finals and were two slow of the line. Never mind. Racing this week is back at sandfly alley, did some testing and cleaning on a couple of cars, so we shall see if that makes a difference.

Boy those guys know how to drag a race night out. Locked up at midnight, but was a great evenings racing. Pony boy was up to his usual tricks, he must have been sampling the race fuel way to much before he turned up. he had a wee nana nap in his chair and dropped his drink. Punishment drinks were a 15 pack at $19.50, not the best beer in the world but also not the worst, and they went down a treat.
The sandfly crew had a better night with wins in top fuel, mac's tools and the inline with the cuda, this was slightly off during qualifying so oiled the motor pinion bushes and it was up to speed again. 2nd in 4 gear nostalgia, truck and 3 gear outlaw.
Next week see's us back at camp mothers Moonshine Park.

Went to secret test and tune last night at Moonshine Park, after spending some time over the weekend prepping my two 4 gear nostalgia cars, i took 2 tenths of the Scribble and 1/2 tenth of Jungle Jim, both of these cars have raced in the Kiwi Challenge and are both now close to record time. Took these cars and the Mac's top fueler as well and ran them, all looks good so we shall see what happens. Till tomorrow then.

Not quite the night i was expecting but on a good note the two nostalgia cars performed and finished 2nd and 3rd behind the very fast pony boy. For some unknown reason the Mac's top fueler went slow in the second round and finished 3rd. The ole 52 chev truck was 2nd along with the chrome firebird the lure in 3 gear outlaw. I was however eating a chicken dinner in inline with the cuda. So i still need to find that elusive 1/2 a tenth to get to pony boy. Next week we are at Impala Raceway, more prepping and testing to come.

The weekend saw some frantic activity in the pits for that elusive 0.050, well i got close, i am running out of ideas. Prepped the white ghost, green arm 4 gear, now its back on pace this car was my first green arm build and has been run every year so its no wonder that the cluster gear gave up. Had some new ones but decided just to replace the top plate. easiest tenth to get back. The Mac's tools fueler has had some more work realigning the shoes and new rear tires. The ole 52 had a birthday clean and a set of new rear tires and front rims. The longer we race these things the harder it is to extract speed from them or to gain a slight advantage, its just like real racing, we need the points.
So we are back to Impala raceway, custom 1000 ft track, till tomorrow.

You can never tell how a race meet is going to turn out, all your dreams and hopes dashed to the weeds. Some may say it was the team owners fault, some may say it was the extreme amount of race fuel consumed, but there it is. Thank the gods for the big tune i did to the 52 chev, took pony boys long standing truck record (yes), and got the chicken dinner, alas it was the only one i got. The mac's tools top fueler reset the track record again but then red lit and finished 3rd. The mighty cuda suffered the same poor driving standard along with the Ghost, which now needs a new crown wheel. The Jungle Jim and Scribble nostalgia cars finished 2nd and 3rd behind pony boy.

Boy i hope its not that cold tonight, pony boy should have the heater going to keep us nice and warm. Racing tonight is at Mustang Alley, did some prep work over the week end, but not expecting miracles as some of my cars dont like the ole rattle track. Matt the Crump and myself did the hottest pizza in the world challenge, well i purchased the sauce and we stuck it on a Hells pizza, Matt was very confident and i just wanted to finish 1 piece, needless to say we wont be doing that again, 1 piece each and we were done. Never mind thats another thing crossed off the list. So till tomorrow.
