I pray that you guys are okay. I see that the north island has been hit hard by the cyclone. I don’t know exactly where you are in New Zealand but it must affect you in some way. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the storm. Thanks for that, we are in the bottom of the north island, yes we have had rain and high winds but nothing like they are getting up north. There has been a lot of talk about the extensive flooding etc, possibly due to the increase in high density housing and where they are building, normally on ground that was not suitable for housing years ago, also the lack of upkeep on infrastructure. |

And to add to that there was a 6.2 mag earth quake last night, the wife and i looked at each other and said that was a big one, no damage to report from our house. |

And anyway it's race night at the hard and fast rattle track known as Mustang Alley. Spoke to pony boy last night, i think he's a sand bagging, saying he fettled his cars and now they are slower, never believe the enemy, till later then.

Off to mustang Alley we went, qualifying, well that was a disaster just like the inclement weather we have been having. ran the scribble down first and thought that aint good, tried in the other lane same result, way slow, so got the jungle jim out, some what better but still not up to par, and on it went, of the 13 cars in the pit box only 9 managed to face the starter.  the willies tjet lined up against Al the lawn mower man, was a good race from memory. While still unsure why the cars were down on performance we carried on.  As you can see it was a torrid nights racing, jungle jim improved but most of the others were still tied to the trailer. ofr, or out first round went to the scribble and mac's tools left too late and lost with a faster time. 4ths went to the willies vintage gasser. 3rds went to the willies tjet and vega in pro stock. 2nds went to jungle jim in nostalgia and ghost in pro mod. Yes we were eating but only just as the f100 came through with an order.  Well at least we made it to the record board, the willies in vintage gas and the f100 in truck. So next week see's us at the new lightning park, another 1000ft rattle track, lets see how that goes. |

So its the fourth week of racing and that see's us at Matt the Crumps house, with his newly built 1000ft rattle track, should be fun. Its just a walk across the road from Sandfly Alley, see you there.

And so the first nights racing at Lightning. Park has been put in the record books. These ole rattle tracks bring back the glorious sounds of guide pins clattering down the track like a bunch of old railway cars. Never mind a good show put on by Matt the Crump. Qualifying went ok after spending a short time before the meet cleaning the faster cars hoping for some improvement from last week. Qualifying the vega didnt happen as i had missed fixing the front tyre that keeps on falling off, have made a note for next week to fix it.  Matt seen here telling pony boy how to write up his times.  Of to the racing we went, the sandfly drivers eager to get amongst it killed the tree in the first race of the night to win a tasty warm Lion Red, a man cant ask for a better way to start the night. Of the eight cars raced we had one ofr from the tjet willies and the scribble failed to progress to the finals.  As you can see Catch me got a third, seconds to the willies vintage gasser and the ghost. Chicken dinners went to Jungle Jim, F100 and at long last Mac's Tools.  Records went to the Ghost- pro mod, jungle jim- nostalgia, F100- truck, Matt has still kept the records from the deleted classes just to confuse every one. Next week see's us back on home turf, cant wait, till then. |

The sandfly season starts tonight, ran the track last night and all is well, ran a few cars and decided that that was enough tinkering. Mac's tools and the Jungle Jim are on point so lets be at them. Pic's and report to follow tomorrow, till then.

Well there you go, after Wednesday night's quick test session, the start of qualifying didn't go so well, with a quick trip back to the pits and a wee bit of go fast juice later we were back on track. A recorded 6 drivers were in attendance.  The Hussle and pushing during qualifying evident here where times matter more than life itself.  The event of the night was the unveiling of the Model A in tip top, never mind it was ofr. The evening got under way with a door prize for all drivers a lovely Ranfurly Draught beer in a large 440ml can, first taste was ok but the last bit not so much. Noted as missing in action Pony boy was off to straila for street out laws, on the gold coast. Hope he enjoys himself. As usual the racing was hard and fast with a few eager drivers picking up red lights including the mac's tools car. A recorded 20 red lights in total took some fast cars out of play.  Thats better racing underway and everyone having fun.  To the results page we go, Scribble out first round with the model A, need to work on that car its getting slower. 4th went to the Willies in t jet, 3rds went to Willies in vintage gas, Vega in pro stock and mac's in top fuel, 2nds went to Catch me in funny car, and the f100 in truck. Chicken dinners to Jungle Jim in nostalgia and the ghost in pro mod.  Records went to mac's tools, The ghost, Jungle Jim, f100 and the willies. So not so bad a nights effort. Next week is a lay over as most of the lads are away, so till next time. |

Nothing to report here as no racing was done, however pony boy and the ice man made a visit and we had a natter session. Turns out ive brought another project, lets just say it has a tide mark.

As they say another night in the books. Yesterday arvo was taken up with the arrival of this,  A somewhat drowned 1965 Fiat 500, another project, this one at home tho. On to the nights racing at camp mothers, The crew chiefs canteen had got matters in hand and we were not the last to arrive, so qualifying got under way and i was ok with the response from the cars, although the newly bodied model A let the team down by going even slower, must be the new grill and lights.  After camp mother took hold of the qualifying sheets and fixed rons attempts to run cars in the wrong classes we were at it.  First victim of the night was Po who earned himself a nice punishment in the first race of the night. Ok what happened, ofr went to the scribble, catch me, willies in t jet and the new model T. never mind. With 10 recorded red lights some by yours Truley and a big sleep at the line, here they go, no 4th places, 3rds went to the ghost and the vega. No 2nds. Big Chicken dinners to Jungle Jim in nostalgia, F100 in truck, Willies in vintage gas and Mac's tolls in top fuel.  A new record was set by the willies in vintage gas, so a good haul of points and must i say a well run meet from camp mother. Next week see's us return to the ice cave impala raceway, for those who havent been banned, oh and pony boy will miss the action as he is away again. Till then. |

well with thats been going on in the garage not much has happened to the race cars, but we should be fine as pony boy is off at beach hop, the weather has turned cold in the last few days so hope the ice cave will be warm. till tomorrow.

Well that was an epic nights racing, poor ole pony boy paul missed out on all the fun. Never let it be said that the ice man can run a meet with out a few minor distractions. Anyway with paul not there it made for some small classes, but these were run any way or we would have finished way to early.  First race of the night, Ron the train guy looks really interested. With only 6 drivers and a box full of awful Lion Reds to drink i think everyone had a punishment drink, some more than others.  Matt the crump had a fair lash at them along with the Will's boys. So to qualifying, This went very quickly and we ended up with Mac's Tools, Jungle Jim and the F100 at the top of the pile.  Now the important bit, that model A needs a wheelie bar, ofr again. No 4ths or 3rds, but a swag of 2nds to Catch me in Funny car, The Ghost in Promod, the Willies in Vintage gas and the Vega in Pro Stock. That leaves us with Chicken Dinners for Drum roll please, Jungle Jim in Nostalgia, F100 in Truck and Mac's Tools in Top Fuel. No records posted buy the crew, but a couple of cars were on the money.  Po the ice man doing ice man things. Next week see's us back at the ole rattle track, Mustang Alley, till then. |

Well that was quick, summer gone gone gone, autumn here with gales rain and cold, did i say its cold. well pony boy will have the heater on tonight, so lets see what happens, no work done on the cars again, till tomorrow.
