To the ice cave we went and boy it was cold, Po had the heater going and it was toasty. Qualifying was over in a flash and the ice man made his move, any cars in the wrong classes will not race, not to let the ice man down, Ron managed to get his cars all sorted along with everyone else. The punishment of the night was a lovely warm box of Lion Reds, The sandfly team helped them self to one but the rest went real quick. As can be seen here Matt has a sly grin as ole pony boy can be seen chugging a nice warm one, he liked it that much that Alan the lawn mower man convinced him that one of his was in fact one of pony boys. That man will do anything for a warm beer. To the racing, as i said it was warm so there should be no issues with cold cars, The team did ok in qf, the large field in Nostalgia i think there is 13 cars, if your just a tad off your in mid field thats where the sand fly Jungle Jim and the Scribble ended up, scribble went a lot better after its clean. Well who got what, OFR went to Model A in tin top and the Willies in T Jet. 4ths went to the Scribble, in nostalgia. 3rds went to Jungle Jim, in nostalgia, Catch me in Funny car, F100 in truck, and Willies in vintage gas. 2nds to The Ghost in Promod. The ice man manning the power boxes for top fuel action. Chicken dinners, yes we were eating again went to the Vega in Pro Stock and Mac's Tools in top fuel. The race sheet, as you can see some cars like a certain lane, but in the end if you dont have lane choice, look out. Next week we are back in the coral at mustang alley, one of the fastest rattle tracks in the area, till then.

Nothing to see here, move along, there was lots to see, mostly rain, never mind we went racing last night at the world-famous Mustang Alley. With all the prep and hype these little buggers are still not playing the game or are they. On arrival i was greeted with these guys hogging my pit stall, but thats ok i needed to dry out. Camp mother seen here qualifying a car for the 10th time. Alan the lawn mower man using the old Will's trick of blowing through the armature for more speed..... So to a story, the other week end pony boy, Matt and myself went on a road trip to Stratford for a swap meet, leaving early at 6am chugging the first beer of the week end we were off to the races, after a while we decided to stop for breakfast at Waverly, a nice feed of bacon and eggs followed by more beer, not for pony boy he was driving, so he was sent of to get ice for the chilly bin. Whilst we were filling the bin with ice and having a general muck around rearranging the beer supplies we were off down the road, pony boys phone goes off, its a call from Matt, Paul turns around to ask why Matt is ringing him only to find out Matt aint where hes supposed to be, as we left the curb Matt walked out of the cafe to find us driving off without him, Matt said to a couple at an outside table, they are going to stop, ne we just kept on going, lucky Matt had his phone or he could still possibly be waiting for our return, so for now Matts new name is Waverly Matt. A great laugh for pony boy and myself. Ok back to the racing, Convinced Pony boy to buy this as well. How about some Tin Top racing, the sandfly model A against Waverly's 32. Ok now to the important bit, qualifying was ok, racing not so much, may have had a few to many sniffs of race fuel. As can be seen the only chicken dinner was from the F100 in truck, next week are racing at Waverly's place.

So the report from Waverly raceway, fka Lightning park, was cold heaters were on and i may have had a few before i got there, which is just across the street. Ended up putting cars in the wrong classes, fixed that befor Matt found out tho i renamed the F100 to a 51 chev, no idea how that happened. The ice man and myself enjoyed the company of this fine heater all night. Qualifying was a bit of a mess with the mac's tools car being a way of the pace, even broke my own rule of not opening cars on race night, still coundnt get much more speed out of it, never mind, most of the other cars were there or there abouts in time. Matt had some issues with the track as it had been cold and with the heaters on it played havic with the power joints, thats why we went to continuous power rails, never mind, he had it kind of fixed for the races. Pony boys dragster lives in matts shed, my company logo on the side. Waiting waiting waiting we were while matt did the necessary paper work to get us going. And were off, as usual the racing was fast and slow for some of us, drivers looking at the food stalls instead of looking down the track, i found the model A driver eating a hot dog at the side of the track with the engine still running and the green light on and the other car nowhere to be seen. To the results, as you can see we still have a few ofr cars competing tho i think lawn mower man Alan still holds the record. 4ths went to the vega in pro stock and the willies in vintage gas, and Mac's tools in top fuel, just couldnt get it going. No 3rds. 2nds to Jungle jim. Chicken dinners to the f100 (51 chev) in truck and the Ghost in Pro Mod. So next week see's us back home so have to clear the shed out of fiat parts, till then.

So that was a nights racing right there, for those who were there. First casualty of the night poor ole silty banished out side Qualifying went wellish, these cars are just not giving their all, we may have to resort to a major clean. TQ's went to the ghost and f100. Its always amusing to watch grown men fighting at the start line for, oh i want that lane you just had it, and how many times are you going to run that car. Pony boy seen here still working on cars so he wont miss his spot. No pre race drinks on offer tonight, as a responsible host i kept these for the red light demon's, turned out the were also for some very sleepy drivers including yours truly. Camp mother not wanting to miss out also scored a famous Ranfurly Draught. These went down like a cup of cold porridge. Not having taken any race pics, heres one of the sandfly jungle jim against cm's army, cant remember who won. so to the results then, not very good reading, Quite a few ofr cars including the Mac's tools top fuel, thanks to a red light again, scribble in nostalgia, catch me in funny car, willies in t jet, and the model A. 4ths to jungle jim. no 3rds 2nds to F100 thanks to a red light, and the vega in pro stock, We were fed by the reliable Ghost in pro mod and the willies in vintage gas. So this week end we have our annual hot rod club swap meet, next meet is at camp mothers moonshine park. Till then.
