After spending last sunday prepping cars and getting them up to speed, disappointment be my friend. With only 4 racers competing there should have been a feed in there for the team but no, nothing, zilch, nudda, zero. 4th x1 3rd's x2 2nd's x6 The only shining moment was the willies taking the record in vintage gas. Next week we are back home, so we shall see what happens then.

So even with the most matriculate prep one of the new track controllers decided it was a great idea to play up, lucky these have stereo plugs so an easy fix, gave all the races something to grizzle about. 7 races attended on a not too cold night. Me doing race master duties by recording a red light with a new red pen donated by waverly mat, recording the first red light of the night by waverly matt, seems ironic dont you think. To qualifying, i think the willies vintage gasser was tq the others somewhere near the top. A yummy snack provided by wendy. To the racing, once the controller issue had been sorted lane choice was not a consideration and the racing was close. Im not sure what i was going on about, but whatever it was it was small. To the results, ofr went to the model A in tin top, Willies in t/jet Red light to Mac's tools, even further behind in the points chase, 4th to jungle jim who was ronned by ron in the scribble car, 3rds to scribble, the ghost and f100 in truck, 2nd to catch me in funny car. As we can see a chicken dinner for the willies in vintage gas and also lowered the track record to 1.083 @ 18v. Next week see's us back at moonshine paint and panel, see you there.

Well all the planets aligned with 5 racers competing. Those MIA, Alan lawn mower man or should we still be calling him artist of the year, was unavailable due to heavy commitments in the art world of setting up an exhibition. Also MIA was pony boy, doing family things. To qualifying we went and came away with not a bad effort, Lanes were fairly even tho i think the yellow lane was just a tad quicker. Camp mother as always doing his stuff, due to the shortage of cars 3 classes were trailered. Now the racing was vera interesting, Camp mother broke his duck, being the first to red light at a meet this year, he also stated that there was going to be a prize at the season end for the most red lights? that got every ones attention, wonder who that will be. Camp mother seen here getting himself a prize. The red lights were shared including on of the sandfly drivers racing the scribble. To the racing, DNR- Model A OFR- Willies t jet and scribble. 4ths none. 3rds- Jungle jim, Ghost, the ole 52 chev from last year in truck and willies in t/jet. 2nds- F100 in truck. Chicken dinners, yes dinners that means more than one, went to, Catch me in funny car, Mac's tools in top fuel, yea baby and with a new track record broken twice on the night was the Willies vintage gasser, 1.071 @ 18v. Who can spot the mistake in the book. Next week we are back at the ice cave, weather seems to be improving so lets go, till next week.

I must keep telling myself its alright, 1000 ft tracks suck, they are just too short. So a racing we went, cars were doing their normal times, things were looking great, had a couple of top qualifiers, life was just peachie. Racing started with a punishment, who can spot what it was! For some unknown reason things in my mind were actually happening faster than they were on the track because i left a whole lot of time at the tree, not sure if the gin's had anything to do with it or the ice mans new controllers were giving issues same as mine did, i even tried real hard to put down a decent r/t and boom a red light, couldn't catch a fish, never mind. Yes pony boy was back, no Ron the train guy tho. Camp mother updating the record board on his phone. To the racing it wasn't pretty, ofr went to the ever-reliable model A in tin top. 4th went to the f100 who for some reason was on a go slow. 3rd's went to the ghost, this car is doing my head in cant find the speed, where did it go. The ole 52 chev in truck, this ole thing was quicker than the f100. 2nds to jungle jim in nostalgia, willies in vintage gas and willies in t/jet. If ya squint real hard you wont see anything, missed the action between two outlaw inlines. These are not included in normal competition. So as you can see the only shining light was you guessed it the Mac's top fueler did it again, chicken dinner time, last race of the night, tfft. Next week we are having a rest as there will be a few drivers away, but you never know what may happen.
