Sandfly Alley and Race Team, New Zealand

Sandfly you and MustangPaul got a lot of work into it and a lot to go, and it’s looking Awesome !! Sure wish I lived in your guys neighborhood😃 and you guys would let me come over and play😁 Looks like some good times. Racing weekly could sure sharpen up your tuning skills and learning from each other not counting the competitive part of it. But mostly the fun of it. Looks like you guys have a blast. Keep the updates coming.

Ok here we go, pix's of the completed track, only missing some stickers. This rebuild took 3 1/2 weeks which is between rounds. All new wiring under the track for the new light gantry's, made from old Meccano, i think they came out quite nice, was the look i was going for. So with the return road gone and the track being a lot wider there was not much room for the cars and trucks. One of the issues I had was the height of the power rails not being even and the track surface in one spot where a join was, but this was fixed by putting a piece of AFX track guard rail under it. The power rails were lifted and reset, not an easy job. The power rails are still slightly high but we will have to live with it. 










So there you have it the new improved Sandfly Alley, Some of the cars are running the same times and we have also had a few records broken. As we are coming into winter with the colder weather we find our cars go slower, but over all i think this has been a vast improvement.

Did you note the 1/4 mile time for my standard SG+ @ 18volts.

I think this chassis holds a record over there not sure if its at jj's.

Up date on the rat 7 build in my new workshop, chassis work ironed out, needs a look over by the cert guy then welding, engine and trans yet to be fitted.



Start line at Moonshine Parks new track surface, same spec as mine, or mines the same spec as his. That's Grant, camp mother.



Finish line at Moonshine Park, including Mat the cheater Crump, just kidding, he seems to win most things these days. Note Grants 32 Ford, old school rod.
