NHRA has three index classes. super comp(8.90) super gas(9.90) and super street(10.90) I think they use a .4 pro tree for super comp and super gas and a .5 pro tree for super street. They are talking about lowering super comp and super gas one full second. Super street would go to a dial in (10.00 to 10.90) and a sportsman tree. So far this is only a rumor and not etched in stone.

I wonder what the NHRA's reasoning is on this potential move? I used to be a fan of these classes when they were first introduced.

I once watched about 100+ dragsters and one car with throttle stops run at an NHRA event. I believe it was the 8.90 class. It is probably interesting for those who run this kind of car but for me as a spectator it was a total bore.

Al had asked me what kind of times 1.0 were run on my 1000' track that would correspond to the 1/8th mile point. My testing showed that a car that was running .80 would run around 1.0 at the 1000' 1/64 HO scale with about a 14-15 MPH trap speed. This should help those who have a 660' track.

Like I said there was only one car competing in that class so his odds were not to good. My Beretta was faster than most of the dragsters that ran at our local 1/8th mile drag strip. It ran 5.0s on motor without any N20. Most of the bracket dragsters were not that quick back then.
It ran like it was on rails without the Nitrous. Once I started to add power was when the troubles started.
