Al you will like those Puck lights. Mine work very well with my IR sensors and give the track a clean look.

Al, during the research I did, I found that the light spectrum that a "xenon" bulb gave out was the key. The ones you gave the link for are that.

Hey Mike, Check your uno, the mega has a 5v and 3.3v power supply built on the board. If you use that for the power you shouldn't need a resistor.

Sam, the resistors I use are in series with the sensors. The sensors are variable resistors controled by light, which will vary the voltage drop across the pull down resistor. Light on = high, light off = low. A wire between the sensor and resistor goes to the input. This is all working fine on a breadboard in my house with normal overhead house lighting. The uno gets its power through the usb on the computer.

I seen those adjustable ones when I was looking around. Not knowing much I passed them up.

Sam, do you have your computer and mega communicating yet. If not, what happens when you plug in the mega?

On the slotforum on the dtc page, on jan 4 i posted that question. They responded with the answer. The edit is fairly simple.

You guys are sure having an adventure, good luck hope you get it sorted out. Having a track timing system is the best tuning tool you can have.

Dave i just completed my system today and made all successful time runs. No problems, what a rewarding feelind.I have slightly less than $25 in the whole system. I would reccomend Dragrace Coordinator to anyone that doesn't have a system. The software is free, but he does ask for a donation to a charity that is close to his heart. The donation is up to the individual. His customer service is outstanding and he responds daily.
