Spring Nationals to include Pancake Unlimited (T jet/AFX) 3 or 4 gear at 26 volts.
Inline pure stock, Inline Super Stock, Pro Mod 2.5 and Unlimited all at 20 volts.

Spring Nationals to include Pancake Unlimited (T jet/AFX) 3 or 4 gear at 28 volts. Inline pure stock, Inline Super Stock, Pro Stock 2.5 and Unlimited all at 20 volts. What does 3 or 4 gear mean? Is 28v correct? We've never run that high.

3 gear doesn't have overdrive, 4th gear is overdrive. Im going with no overdrive. Lmaooooo. No idea Jeff will see soon. Hopefully we can run them both. I need to eventually get dedicated cars to all the classes we have, so I stop taking things apart. Ha ha

It's like apples and oranges. 4gear is not competitive with 3 gear so why even have it as an option? It should be either 3 gear Unlimited (Tjet/AFX) or 4 gear by itself. That's why I wanted to get clarification. Also I didn't know if 28v was a typo or accurate because we've never run voltages that high as long as I've been here. 26v is the norm for Unlimited.

The only reason I posted this so soon is to allow the builders time to put together some chassis. We have other races coming up before that which need our attention. I was going to run at 30 volts but dropped it to 28 which would correspond to 2 fully charged 12 volt batteries in series which generally run about 13.8v or so. I will allow all pancake chassis in this class, 3 - 4 gear including T jets. I believe we will have some breakage at that race. Only rules will be HO size bodies with a pancake chassis.

The race is held at my house in Knoxville, Tennessee. It is not for T Jet only, all pancake chassis will be allowed. I will have to test running them at 26 volts as I tried 28 volts and there was some arcing on the track that was hurting the rails on the positive side.

I am assuming from other conversations that the following chassis will be the only ones legal for pure stock. AW super 111, lifelike "M", tyco 440x2. Tomy super G. Will the jag dr-1 be legal for superstock?

Pure Stock inline should be a fun class, I got an older SuperG+ that will be perfect for this class. Are there any timing restrictions on Pure Stock?

Just went back and read rules again. No timing adjustments! Will still be a fun class.

Will the jag dr-1 be legal for superstock? I think the chassis that are NOT allowed are listed in the rules. It might be easier to look at it that way. Basically no High Performance aftermarket type chassis. We are looking for Stock components....motor, magnets, gears, etc. If there is any doubt ask for clarification. The DR-1 is allowed in Super Stock as per the NTRA rules. The final call is with the Racemaster though.

The pure stock rules call for a 7t pinion. I'm thinking the G+, Super Magnatraction, and derivatives came stock with 8t pinions. Will have to check to be sure. If that is the case, having to change the stock gears to something non-stock would seem counter to the intent of the rules.
What are your thoughts?

It says 7/25 + or - one tooth, I read that as 8T on pinion is okay and 24T on crown okay, but I could be completely wrong, JMHO.

Just did another reread of pure stock rules: Stock 7/25 +or- 1 tooth on crown gear.
