The stock inline should be a very interesting class, I am looking forward to this. There is such a wide choice of chassis so I will have to start testing.

The pure stock rules call for a 7t pinion. I'm thinking the G+, Super Magnatraction, and derivatives came stock with 8t pinions. Will have to check to be sure. If that is the case, having to change the stock gears to something non-stock would seem counter to the intent of the rules. What are your thoughts? It says 7/25 + or - one tooth, I read that as 8T on pinion is okay and 24T on crown okay, but I could be completely wrong, JMHO. Bluesguy's post is correct.......it is +or- 1 tooth on the crown gear not the pinion. What we want to see is Stock gearing. So if it came with an 8t pinion ok. Hard to police some of this stuff, but if something leads us to have to research then we will. For now the builder will need to do the research and be correct. If the car goes to tech for some reason then we will have to confirm what stock is.

If I am not mistaken I believe the Tomy Turbo style cars came with a 22T crown gear as stock. IMHO I would say best way to over come all the questions is just say 7T pinion and 25T crown gear on all builds for stock. The reason is most stock builds come with 7/25. So just make all stock builds no matter what they came with in this class run 7/25.

Yes that's what I'm counting Mazda. Just double checked my original g plus are 8/20 gearing. With that though my tyco's I think are 7/25 gears out run the gplus. From what I have at least. Not saying the g plus can't win just saying what im seeing on my timmer.

Stock Gears on a Tomy Super G+, Tyco 440X2, Life Like "M" and "T" chassis all came with a 7/25 gear set. This is a 1:3.57 ratio. The Aurora G+ came with a 8/20 yielding 1:2.50 Ratio.Tomy SRT and Turbo Chassis came with a 7/22 yielding a 1:3.14 Ratio. I found this info on line from actual parts listings that came with the cars. Hope this helps.

I am conferring with Jeff on the gear issue. A decision will be made in plenty of time before the race. I am aware of the stock G+ with an 8/20.

I read the inline stock rules and I got confused before I even got down to the gearing. Question if I run a Amrac, G- Plus or Super Magnatraction can I add traction magnets? If so how many and what would be considered stock grade for them? Or are they illegal as that would be considered a chassis modification? Are SRT's allowed and if so can I change the traction magnet?

The moderators will likely chime in on this. Adding traction magnets to those chassis should be within the rules. When I raced a SMT style car one of the mods recommended that I add traction mags

From my understanding adding the traction magnets or whillie bars are not considered chassie mods. I think your allowed to add one hole to mount an after market body also. Maybe 2 holes for the body if your pinning from the side? Now I've given myself a question
I do know what you mean on the rules. Where so honest we make it harder on ourselves trying to stay honest.
In adding traction magnets were supposed to follow other chassis as in placement and size of magnets. Not perfect but close. So no tomy turbo bar magnet melted in the chassie ,that won't fly

No chassis modifications. No holes, no added magnets, no moving of magnets. Rules state traction magnet Yes factory grade only. If the car didn't come with tractions than what is factory grade for that chassis? there would be none therefore none could be added. This is pretty much the way they come out of the package. Super stock is now the class that the changes are allowed you're asking about. That is how I see understand the new guidelines. If modification is to mount body I think its considered non performance and allowed.

Pete, Thank you for chiming in but I believe you are wrong. That's why I posted it here to ask JJ and Dave both NTRA Officials and Dave is also the race moderator. Remember the rules tell you they are just a general guideline and any gray area falls to the discretion of the race moderator. There's a disagreement between how you interpret the rules to be and how Skillet interprets them as well as myself. I know in pancake stock we're allowed 2 tractions magnets whether it's 3 or 4 gear and only AW 4 gear came with 2 traction magnets.
