Who is the best source for 5 ohm pancake arms? I know lucky bobs has mean greens. I sent Dash an email but no response yet.

I have some of DASH 4 lam 5 OHM arms and someone bought me some more. they are no longer listed on his site. he also hasn't returned any of my emails and now I find out, Sunday night when the colored chassis were supposed to on sale, that my account on DASH site was deactivated! and, now the colored chassis are no longer listed on the site. I guess since I am not JoeSkylark Toscano I am not worthy of purchasing DASH products. in any case, I might could spare one or two arms when I get them.

The Dash 4 lam 5 ohm arm is only about 4.2-4.4 ohms, so it can't be used in place of a mean green. Presently it only fits in NTRA unlimited classes. Jag has mean greens in stock.

I thought somebody a while back, perhaps Dave did a review of the Dash Quadra lam and found them to be equivalent to a mean green. Actually not quit as good if I recall correctly.

Seems he sells to a select group.I have others order for me in the past. Feel like I'm going under ground to get things from Dash.

I did do a review of the Quadra lam a couple of years ago when they first came out. I found the mean green to be superior in performance on my drag strip even though the Dash arm read almost 2 ohm lower in resistance. The 4 laminate arm seemed to kill the bottom end so it was not the best for drag racing and it does not fit any of our current pancake classes except Unlimited where it has no chance. Would probably do better on a road track where a lot of low end torque is not necessary. Al, it seems like whoever operates Dash has angered quite a few by being on a LIST?? of not being able to buy their products. Don't understand that but it takes all kinds I guess.

Perhaps you criticized him back on the old Hobbytalk chat board. He doesn't seem to respond well to criticism.

Idon't think you'll find an actual reading of 5 ohms on any of these arms. They usually read out at 4.2-4.5 ohms. The only legal use of these arms is unlimited classes.

I've only had/have 1 of the dash 4lam 5ohm arms. It had a measurement of 4.7 ohm on 2 poles 4.8 on the last pole. To be honest it ran like crap and went up in smoke in under 10 passes at 18.5 vdc.
I recently wrapped it with 11'5" of 38awg wire. Im now measuring at 5.1 ohm on all poles. I stuck it in a autoworld tjet with stock motor magnets and two traction magnets. I've ran it against stock tyco 440x2 and stock mega G and its winning by at least a foot. I'll have my timmer operating today (fingers crossed) so I'll have a better idea of what it's doing.
I was excited with the result being new to winding arms. Its definitely not as hard as one thinks before doing it.just tedious and time consuming.
