it was good meeting you and your wife Bill. agree that I found some folks I have only known online. got to sell a car to Bryan Young which astonished his son who was videoing the whole thing. don t know if it was a live feed or if it will show up on YouTube. had a good day and met a lot of people. sorry you guys in the south don't have this opportunity. perhaps one of you will book a small ball room or a fire station room and hold on. need to advertise every day on FB for 3 months to get the word out. I might be able to share contact info with some vendors. wishing someone would do it isn't going to have any effect.

Dang Hank your masking me blush:-).
By far the best part of everything was seeing my slot Brothers in person and wishing ECBills wife a happy anniversary. She had the strangest look when I said it ,and she said thank you, but you knew it was our anniversary?? I said o yha I wouldn't forget ,ECBill let us know. Then I started thinking to myself "man I hope Bill said happy anniversary before I did ha ha ha."
Well I went back to work today. Actually just getting home. The house just doesn't feel the same anymore without Al and Hank here. Miss you guys already. We all share this great hobby/sport all together, but what's even more amazing to me is in spending time with Al and Hank at the house and just finding out how much more we all had in common. Brothers from another mother for sure. Not to mention finding my singing partner Hank :-).
Mrs. SKILLET says hello to Al and Hank and it was great having you over. Come back anytime.
Glad your back safe Bill. Next time we need to plan it out so you can stay the night at my place. Air mattresses all around.
Vince I got caught up in shooting the ship with everyone there I didn't search for those cars. I did look on pro tinker and bad L table didn't see them. Next chance I get I will swing by Bad L to see if he has them at the shop. He didn't have many tables this time so he didn't bring alot.
Ken it wasn't a unicorn. Now I'm going to tell you a true story that just sounds not true. I couldn't believe it and I don't think Al did either...
The day begins early. Vendors are getting set up and you see some early bird buyers coming in. Everyone talks some and you see some people from previous shows all is good.
We're all set up now and Hank, Al and I were kinda taking turns walking around and watching the table. There came a time it was Al and I sitting at the table. Here comes a guy asking for a beige toronado or any color? I believe Al answered the guy are you looking for Ken. I don't think the guy answered but he looked very strangely at Al. You could almost see how confused the guy was. At the exact time a laughter inside me had started and I turned to Al and said I think its a coincidence. Well the guy ended up not knowing Ken. Turned out the only thing he was there to buy was the toronado bodies. He stopped by our table later near the end of the show to let us know he bought every toronado in the building wich turned out to be 5 or 6 and he wasn't coming off them. We didn't stand a chance in finding one.

Wish we had a little more time to hang out! Sounds like you all had a great time at Sam's. Did you make much progress on the track? It would be pretty cool to see how the Viper track comes together. Someday I may want to upgrade. Would like to go the route that Gale took when he made GTS.
Never did get to connect with Parts Pig on the Nomad bumpers. Will have to look him up.
Al, you are right, just talking about show aint going to make anything happen. There are slot racers scattered around the south. The only southern vendors I can think of are Harden Creek and Slot Tech, both in Florida. Wonder if having one in the winter would lure some snowbirds down?

I think we did really good on the track considering I ripped my table down and started over lol.
Having the three of us there putting our heads together, we came up with some great ideas wich makes putting the viper track together relatively easy, And we finished the hard stuff before they left. Depending on my work schedule I'll have it running with the timmer next week.
Just having fun was more of a priority to me and I think we accomplished that. We had some fun running on the road course. I had built a fray car before just to make one. Not having anyone in my area running them I really wasn't sure how I did. Hank was humble enough to share with me alot of areas in setting them up I had no idea. He got my little fray car cranking around the track. Thank you again Hank, I'm going to build a couple more so my fray car has some friends to ride with ha ha.
I'll get some track pictures together and post them in AlleyRatz thread.

Bill ill travel south for a show. Honestly I'd rather not travel in the snow though. Maybe a show in the fall.

I see on the same flyer that there's another show in the fall on October 30th. If I'm still kicking. I'm going to be the guy walking around first thing in the morning asking everyone "Got any old Aurora bodies?". Then you'll get a proper response when you ask "Are you Ken?" Cheers, Ken

Sam, I just cannot say enough to express my gratitude for allowing Hank and I to bunk at your place .we had such a good time! one of the highlights, along with the wonderful times with Rosey, was meeting your Mom, Sharon. she is such a free spirit and makes wonderful vegetable lasagna. a true flower child right through to this era! hope the missing parts for the VIPER track arrive soon. great couple of days with friends of a kind.

Kicking around ideas. There is an outfit that has, toy and die cast shows in several NC cities. Could try to get rid one-off some of the stuff I gathered back when I thought NASCAR was a sport, and set up some slot stuff with it to see what kind of response we get. Would try to get the word out to known slot car lovers in the area.

Bill, maybe contact those who run the toy and diecast shows to include slot cars in their description/title and provide them with a contact list of those you know who might be interested. possibly boost their vendor participation and increase buyers through the door. folks in those areas that are Nitro Members, provide your email addys to Bill to help him show interest and desire. notify your friends that are NOT Nitro Members to provide their emails too. show hosts generally want to increase their door and vendors, so a show of support will help sway them.
one of our very popular local shows includes die cast and slot car vendors and his shows sell out tables and attract a lot of buyers.
Bill needs help and support from the communities that he is trying to bring slot car shows to. if those who really want those shows close to them, they have to band together and show their desire and propensity to attend.
how many members of Nitro are in the "south"? how many members of Nitro support Nitro?
action talks, B.S. walks.

Bill, Thanks a millon for the heads up! Yes, it's three igloos away (igloos are an hour apart around here). And yes I'll be there. It does not really compare to a large show in the USA. But I don't need to cross the border. Plus I usually go with someone to split the gas. One easy day-trip for me. I wen't last year and got these at the show... and maybe a few other things. Cheers, Ken Attachments:

There was a vendor beside the kitchen. I visited the kitchen twice and had to wait a few minutes for food to be made. The vendor beside the kitchen got me both times. Oh well. I'm a sucker for cool looking cars.
